Video, Roadmap and Tips

Step 1 - 0:00
Step 2 - 4:40
Step 3 - 20:25
Step 4 - 36:25

Roadmap and Tips

  • Step 1 (0:00) - Gain intel for all of the Captains
Note: Recommended duration for this step is 3 to 4 minutes.

From the tower that you spawn in, summon ally uruks (press U) and use them to learn every Captain's location.

Tips
- You can kill the uruks for a few points once you collect the intel from them. However, points are irrelevant for this achievement.
- Don't look for uruks on the map as it will take time and is unnecessary.
- If you spawn 5 uruks at a time, it should take exactly 4 waves of them to learn the location of all 20 Captains.

  • Step 2 (4:40) - Use a Graug to eat 12 Captains.
Note: Recommended duration for this step is 10 to 15 minutes. Start within the 10-min mark or earlier.

After you collect intel for all Captains, open your map and travel to the South tower (shown at 4:40) and turn around to locate the Graug behind you. Use RMB + Z to Shadow Mount it from a distance and use it to eat 12 Captains.

IMPORTANT: Kill no more than 12 Captains. If you kill 13 or more, you will be unable to unlock the achievement and may have to restart the trial. As you can see in this video, I am killed by a normal uruk at some point and he becomes a Captain. So if you have an insufficient number of Captains to Brand, die from a normal uruk and he will be promoted.

Tips
- If the Graug does not spawn, simply open the map again and travel to the same tower. No need to leave the tower and look for the Graug. You may have to respawn 10 times, but fast-traveling to a tower does not take much time, so don't worry.
- If you know another place that spawns a Graug every time, use that.
- Try to go for the Captains nearest to you to save time. Aim for time efficiency in the whole process.
- Look after your Graug and make sure it doesn't die. If it does, simply travel to the same tower until another one respawns.

  • Step 3 (20:25) - Brand the 8 remaining Captains.
Note: Recommended duration for this step is 10 to 15 minutes. Start within the 25-min mark or earlier.

Now that you have killed 12 of the Captains, there are 8 you need to Brand. Simply locate them on the map and travel to their location as fast as possible, lower their health and dominate them. Use at least 5 dominated Captains as intel to learn the location of all Warchiefs.

Tips
- Leave the special-event Captains for last (the ones in Duels, Feasts, etc.).
- Always try to brand the Captain's reinforcements so that you are not disturbed when you try to dominate him. This is also an opportunity for you to Brand at least a portion of the 50 Grunts that you are required to.
- Be careful if you summon uruks to support you, sometimes a Branded Captain will spawn with them and you have to make sure he isn't killed in combat. If one of your Branded Captains dies, you will not be able to unlock the achievement.

  • Step 4 (36:25) - Kill all 5 Warchiefs.
Note: Recommended duration for this step is 15 to 20 minutes. Start within the 40-min mark or earlier.

Now that you have killed 12 of the Captains and Branded 8, only the 5 Warchiefs remain. Simply draw them out of their fortresses and kill them.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that you have killed 12 Captains, Branded 8 Captains and 50 Grunts before you kill the final Warchief.

Tips
- Use the opportunity to Brand some more Grunts if you still haven't branded 50.
- If one of your Branded Captains is a bodyguard of a certain Warchief, try not to ask him for help to avoid him being killed in combat. If he starts fighting on his own, simply keep an eye on his health.
- Take your time and make sure everything is going to plan. If it isn't, you can die and retry your current mission. Just make sure you have time.

Once you've killed the final Warchief, the trial will end and it will show you your score and medal.

If you have any questions or additional tips to add, feel free to ask/share them in the comment section. Good luck!

I couldn't make Graug to spawn on the South tower, so I have instead went for a Beast hunt quest, where I got Captain and Graug in one package. :lunar2019coolpig: After mounting him just proceed the same way as in the guide.
If there is no Beast hunt quest, just do some other quest (Ordeal was quickest) and hopefully the quest will spawn for you. I was able to do it in the same time range as in the guide, so it's not much time consuming.
Just dropping my two cents here. :2018salienpsychic: And thanks for a great guide. :champ:

Thanks for this, 46 min on first attempt. This one is way more forgiving than the Test of the Wild.

From what I remember it is random, so you can get unlucky and will take several attempts, but it's been a while since I made this, so hopefully someone else can help you too if it still doesn't work.
