Capital Ships
The first ship on our list is the Capital Ship. For the Federation, it's the USS Enterprise; for the Romulans, it's, well...something. Anyway, they are the toughest ships in the game, with a good primary armamnet of proton torpedoes that explode where the mouse is. The capital ship is unique in that it also has a secondary armament consisting of short range point defense phasers that automatically fire at any enemy hsip in close proximity. The capital ship is capable of moderately fast speeds, and yet is still very tough. It makes a good tank, capable of wading into battle and dealing out good damage and taking some in return. A good all arounder.
Missile Cruisers
The Missile cruiser is a large ship, slightly smaller than the capital ship. It is armed with long range proton torpedoes that will continue past the screen. They do not explode. They also use a huge amount of energy, so you can't just charge into battle like a capital ship, since you'll use up your ammo in seconds and then be defenseless. It is one of the slowest ships in the game. A good long range attacker, but not good for close quarters.
Bombers
Aaahh, the bombr. One of my personal favorites. It is one of the fastest ships in the game, and, in capable hands, one of the most deadly. About hte same size as a fighter, it is armed only with a mine launcher. These mines, which with upgrades will fracture into first one then two smaller mines, are very deadly. fully upgraded, one or two is all it takes to bring down a full health capital ship. It excels at dashing into an enemy formation and dropping its bombs before dashing out to avoid vindictive fire. This makes it very good for defense in say, a narrow pass. It can annhilate an entire fleet in seconds in such a situation. Overall, a very good defender or strike ship, and very deadly in the right hands.
Fighters
Now, the fighter. The fighter is the second fastest ship in the game, after the bomber. It is armed with an auto phaser that is later complimented with dumbfire rockets wich later become quided missiles. It is a good scout and good for harrassing an enemy fleet, and it is good with dashing through and through enemy fleets and around their ships whilst blanketing them with a hail of phaser fire. Overall, a good scout and good at harrasing enemy ships. good for beginners, as it is nimble and can still pack a moderate punch.
Support ships
And finally, the support ship. This vessel is not very good for racking up kills, but it's great for providing support. It is capable of pretty fast speeds, and it heals, re-energizes, and buffs allies, and can damage enemy escape pods. It is an invaluable asset to any fleet, and is pretty straightforwards in its strategy: stick close to allies, and constantly hold down the fire button.
