Introduction and Small Story
There are a ton of impersonators out there.

We've almost all experienced attempted scams by impersonators before. This guide was created with permission of a well-known key seller named enK, who consistently is impersonated by steam scammers.

The guide demonstrates how to tell the difference between a seller like enK and his impersonators.
Checking Inventory Method
Here is enK's profile, the REAL one, not the imposter.
https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/id/enKPOL

Now here is the imposter's profile.

They are very similar in so many ways.

The first thing you want to check is their inventory. This is usually the easiest way to spot a scammer/impersonator.

As you can see with real enK,
He has a knife, a fire serpent, hundreds of keys, etc.

Fake Enk, on the other hand, has a bunch of 10 cent items (and occasionally a scammer item or two, but usually only for a few minutes)
Checking Cashrep + Steam IDs (Best Method)
The next way is the most secure way, but it takes a bit of effort.

Never trust any big user without cashrep. Cashrep is a real money reputation thread in the group CSGOreports.

If you click it (from either profile), it goes to
http://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/groups/CSGOREPorts/discussions/0/611696927933592569/

It is now confusing because both accounts have the same cashrep. You know one of them is a scammer, but how do you find out?

Here is what you do.

1. Go to the cashrep.

2. Click "View Profile" of the person who posted the cashrep

3. Go to a steam ID converting website, like steamid.io

4. Copy the Custom Url of whoever posted the cashrep

5. Paste that URL into steamid.io and convert it.
6. Write down the steam ID 64

7. Now convert both accounts using steamid.io and write those down.

8. As you can see, Enk one (the real enK) matches the user who posted the cashrep

Now you know that 76561198018533211 (Enk one) is the real enK, so you can go and block and report the imposter Enk.

Always Check Steamrep
If you do not know about steamrep, is is a site where you can report and view reports of players convicted of scamming.

https://steamrep.com/

All you have to do is grab the custom URL / SteamID 64 we used earlier and paste it into this box.

This one is obviously fake Enk.

When you search him up, it immediately tells you that he is a scammer.

Big Thanks to enK and Adding a Nickname
I just want to give a big shoutout to enK for helping me not get scammed by the imposter. enK (the real one) added me to tell me that the fake one was on my friend's list.

Another great way to make sure that you have the real one is to give them a nickname, like so

Thank you for reading, and please share this guide, so no one gets scammed!
