Yeah wow they should fix the "????" language option - It's most likely due to an error in some old Windows programs where your computer won't load characters from another language unless your computer is set to that language.

Studio Pixel is a Japanese developer who has worked on many other games, and this second language option is indeed Japanese. You could edit your post and remove the parts saying it might be Chinese, but this is a really old game/post so I don't think it will be updated. Thanks for helping anyone who might have accidentally chose the wrong language though.
