Then go into workshop mode and store the dropped guns into the workshop. You will notice the build limit bar (top right) will gradually shrink with each gun stored. Large settlement spaces may mean repeating this technique several times. Just take the guns (all types) back out of the workshop and drop them again,
Sleeping bags will slightly limit happiness, so use full beds where possible.
Extra info about settlement defense : your player Difficulty level (such as Very Hard or Survivor Mode) does *not* affect weapon damage to settlers, so no worries (raiders do normal damage (1:1) versus settlers).
1, no, only certain items (mostly junk) that are used for crafting gets shared between settlements, weapons don't get shared even if you store them in the workshop
2. no, the trading inventory of you settlement stores are completely independent of you and the workshop inventory. income from stors is based on total population relative to thier happiness and has nothing to do with items in the settlement workshop
2) Weapons/Armor stored in workshops get sold by the stores you setup.
