So you ended up on this game, it looks nice and you decide to give it a try, it's free to play after all, right?
You start it up for the first time, excited on what it's going to be, you choose your Name and your Gender and start up, but what the heck is this? Some bars are moving and so many windows to open. Some numbers shifting on the bottom left and generally all over the screen. So what are you supposed to do now?

At first I want to introduce you to the stats on the bottom left, these seperate in the following:

  • HP
  • Divinity
  • Attack
  • Physical
  • Mystic
  • Battle
  • Creating

HP is pretty self-explainatory, it indicades how much damage you can take. It is made up by this formular: Physical*10+Creating*5 whilst your HP/s depends on your Mystic-Stat which should be about 1/20th of your Mystic stat.
Divinity wont matter for you early on.
Attack is the amount of damage you do per tick, this game has 33.5 ticks per second. Battle will increase your Attack in a 1/1 ratio while Physical increases it by 1/4. It increases while fighting monsters with your clones.
Physical is a Stat that increases with training. It increases your HP by 10 per point and your attack by 0.25 per point.
Mystic Is your defense in this game, 1 Defense per Mystic= 1 less damage per tick per Mystic. It also increases your HP/s
Creating increases while creating things. It increases your creation Speed the higher it gets until it hits a cap and also increases your HP by 5 per point.
These are essential when fighting gods, also your Shadow Clones scale with this (the ratio is flat 1/1000 and will increase until it hits 1/50- each 1000 mystic on you will increase your clones mystic count by 1 until each 50 mystics on you will increase your clones mystic count by 1)

Don't mind the different numers, it is basically the same afterall.

So let's first talk about the Interface in this game. You have a variety of Game-Tabs available split up in four major categories: Build, Train, Fight, Other. These are visible in the top left hand side of the Game, right next to the name.
Each of these is seperated in different subtabs.

Build
  • Create
  • Monuments
  • Divinity
  • Planet
Train
  • Physical
  • Skills
  • TBS
Fight
  • Monster
  • Gods
  • Special
  • Pets
Other
  • Statistics

  • FAQ

So let's get started. The build Tab only contains one thing that you need to worry about for quite a long time. That is Create, here you create things, more specifically you will create Shadow Clones, these guys are doing everything for your and are one of the two ways to improve your stats. The other one being creating things. After defeating the first gods you will be able to create other things, these work as resources to create yet again other things, or to build things (which will happen much later in the game).

The Train tab will be a good friend for you, always, there is no way around it. Here you can send your freshly created Shadow Clones to do some exercisement for you, of which you will, suprsingly, benefit yourself. Makes Sense right? You can train two different things early on, Skills and Physical. Skills increase your Mystic count and Physical increases...well your Physical count. The amount you get can be seen on the top left. You can assign clones to to do these Tasks when clickin on the +. - Will simply remove Clones agian, how many? That you can set on the top right to middle site of the Interface. (marked in the picture below) You can choose anything between 1 and max, where max is your current maximum clone count. You can also set custom numbers.
Additional Hint: Clicking on "Cap" next to a training will assign as many clones to a skill until it is done at the fasted rate possible (called blackbarred or bb)

yet again don't worry about different numbers.

Fight
Here you have the options to fight monsters at the moment you will only see one. Just as in the
Train Tab you can assign clones to find these savage monsters! Doing so will make your clones fight them, though be careful monsters hit back, and early on, they do that hard. The recommended amount for fighting a slime is about 250 clones when having 20k Physical or more. Don't worry this will get easier as you advance. Killing a monster once will unlock the next monster which will be a lot stronger. But why do you want to fight monsters? For Battle ofcouse! The battle stat increases by X per second (visible exactly where you can see the mystic per second or physical per second aswell).

But the next thing will one of the most important tabs of them all, the god tab, the reason why you do all of this! There are a few very well researched Gods which all have a ton of HP Attack and Defense, so fighting them is no bed of roses! Once you defeat a God you can unlock further creations and you eventually get GP ( I will talk about this in the other part of the guide as this is simply for the interface and modules in this game) You will only get GP for defeating a good once, that is until you hit Izanagi from there on a god will ALWAYS drop 1 GP.

The Special tab is probably very confusing, just make sure that you leave the "auto" option on whenever you don't use skills yourself, obviously you can click the skills yourself but that requires a lot of patience, why would you want to do that? Earlier I told you that you can blackbar trainings, the amount of clones required to do this lowers by 1 every 3 times you use one of these skills in the Special tab. The auto function uses all skills once every minute, so the cap of all currently available trainings will lower by 3 every minute. Great, eh? You will unlock pets eventually from time to time and they can fight assigned clones which will increase their stats and give them exp, the higher the stats the better the clones they can fight the more exp they will earn which will eventually increase the rebirth-bonus you will recieve from your Pets.

The Other tab is simply there for lore, statistics or settings for colour/music and some other matters of preference.
How to start (Rebirth 0)
So if you read the previous section or someone in the chat told you the basic information, you might feel like: "Cool but what now", that's what I want to cover in this section.

I really do recommend reading the Interfacesection first, as this will probably contain terms that would otherwise confuse you.
I already told you that you can use the Shadow Clones you create to do all this fancy stuff that I will cover here.
The first thing you should do is go to the Train section, add some of your clones to each Skills and Physical training. Do that with clicking on the plus (+) sign. How many clones you will add depends on the amount you set it too, that you can do with the buttons above the whole thing. You can either do a specific number, go in magnitudes of 10 or you can just add as many clones as possible (max). Clicking on the minus sign will then again remove clones in the same way, though clicking on cap will simply add as many clones as you need to blackbar it (see interface on how that works)

This will slowly build up some Physical and Mystic for you, which will increase attack defense HP and hp regeneration. Once you have about 250 clones that you can freely use and more than 20000 physical you can send these clones to purify the kingdom with killing a devilsent slime! This will give you Battle/s and thus increase your attack further. But what is your goal? What do you need these Stats for? You need these Stats to kick some Gods. These can be considered as bosses and you will actually fight them yourself, no clones involved whatsoever. Hovering over a god will tell you his HP, attack, defense and the frequency of him critting. The powerlevel doesn't really matter.

Try to get a good chunk higher stats than Hyperion, the first god, has before you attack him. And yes, that will take some time, try figuring out some thing while doing so. Bored? You shouldn't afterall it's called "Idling to rule the Gods" for a reason.
After a few hours or days, depending on your activity, you should be able to take on hyperion with ease. After doing so you should check the Rebirth Tab on the left side above the picture of your glorious hero/-ine.

Rebirth

Rebirthing in this game is the Ascension in Clicker Heroes, the Abdication in Realm grinder or the
Angel Investor claim in Adventure Capitlist, it will reset your game to the start, sounds horrible right? But no it isn't horrible because you will get a multiplier that will further boost your stats by a significant amount, but when and how to rebirth?

In the early game (everything pre baal) you should aim for killing atleast one god every Rebirth, this will increase the so called "God Multiplier" by a magnitude of 2 and thus also the Stat Multiplier (which you don't need to worry about) so over all a magnitude of 4 per god. Rebirthing is "save" when all numbers are green, but just having them green is not what you aim for. You should atleast get about 6x your previous multiplicators. E.g If you Battle multi was 10; 60 is what you should aim for atleast. You got 6000 now? No issue, just make sure that all are atleast multiplied by 6, the more the better.
But before you rebirth, make sure to kill all of your clones!
Why? Because you don't want to stick around with those 1000 clones of yours, you want MORE. Each 20 Clones you create will increase your clone count by 1. Each 20 Clones you kill will increase your clone count by 1. So having 1000 clones created, and killing 1000 clones afterwards. will boost your clone count to 1100. Not much but a start and most of the time you will create a few more than these 1000 and kill a few more than these 1000, the more the better.
Always remember to butcher your clones fellas!

I killed a new god but my multies aren't green yet? Well multies don't only depend on the gods you kill, actually that is just the strawberry on top of the chocolate. The most is done by achievments. And no I do not talk about the Steam achievments. Maybe you noticed the red-black badge on the top right of the screen? If you click on that you will see all available achievments for that Section. Achievments exist for Creation, Skills, Physical and Battle. Each requires you do build/kill/train a specific thing so and so often. Having trained Double Punch 10000 times for example will boost your multiplier when rebirthing by a bit. So each achievment is the key to get them to be green.

Creations like light or stone don't actually do anything for you yet, though you do get creation achievment which will boost your creation multiplier. So make sure you create some light/stone/... aswell before rebirthing. In general you should aim for all achievments that you can easily obtain before rebirthing. Even if everything is x1000 now, if it would take you 5 minutes to get one more achievment, you might want to consider getting it.
And no Achievments don't stick around during rebirths. You lose everything but God Power (I'll explain that in another section)
Your multiplier, your clone cap, your pets and your Special Draws or everything you obtained by them.
Pets
After defeating the first god,Hyperion, you will have access to your very first pet! The mouse, located under Fight->Pets.
Pets will not do a lot for you early on, though in general they increase the rebirth multiplier by 0.01% per stat. Example: 4 Battle= 0.04% more battlerebirth multiplier.
This doesn't sound like a lot at first, but it will come in very handy later on.
So how do you increase those stats? Well whenever your pet levels up there is some fancy math stuff going on (hover over the Total growth stat to see the formulars) and that will increase the stats of your pet. Growth is affected by the food you give to your pet, you can do that whenever the so called hungerbar is below 75%, always feed your pet when possible. When feeding it you have various food types and sauces to choose from, don't bother with the food types yet, though the sauces are all free and add different things to your growth, you can decide on your own what sauce you want to use. I personally went for sour sauce and mayonaise alternately.

To get your pet to get experience you need to create some custom clones first, do that with clicking on the Create Clones tab. there you can change the stats of the custom clones, make sure their stats are slightly below the ones of your pet. You can also set the amount it shall fight, set that whatever you want. Make sure your pet is not losing HP when fighting clones, if it does, lower the battle/physical stat of your clones. That will slightly reduce the xp per clone but greatly increase the xp over time, trust me.
To get your pet to fight these clones you need to distribute them to your pet. To do that you need to go back to the pet-mainscreen. On the top right it will say distribute, clicking that will move all your idling Clones to your pet to fight it. don't move more than 50-100 early on, it's not worth it. Reclaiming will simply take back all Clones you distributed before that haven't yet been defeated by your mighty mighty mouse.

That should be it on the topic pets for now, I'll add a GP guide within the next few days and afterwards a guide on monuments or vice versa, thanks for all the positive support, leave comments, suggestions, requests, corrections, or simply advises or recommendations in the section down below. If you find any kind of grammatic/spelling or phrasing mistake, just tell me, I will correct it ASAP.

Monuments
As requested and since I just happened to find some time to continue writing, I'm going to talk about monuments.

So what are monuments and how do you get it?
Well monuments are so called buildings which you can find under the, you've guessed it, build tab. You will unlock monuments after defeating Diana, which is quite a long way since you probably just defeated Hyperion when reading this, but don't worry as many have before you, you will be able to do this without any issues!
There are multiple types of monuments, all of which increase different things or atleast the same things in different amounts, the monuments go the following:

  • Mighty statue (physical]
  • Mystic garden (mystic)
  • Tomb of gods (battle)
  • Everlasting lightouse (creation)
  • Godly Statue (all four stats)
  • Pyramids of power (all four stats)
  • Tempel of god (all four stats)

But how exactly do they increase things? Well if you hover over the specific monument it will tell you something like this:

The first thing it will tell you is the description, some cool lore stuff.
The next thing is the requirements to build one of these monuments
Afterwards it tells you the time it would take to build that monument with exactly 1000 clones. So if you let's say need 1 hour and 40 minutes to build a godly statue with 1000 clones, it would take 10 minutes to build it with 10000 clones, or 1 minute with 100000 clones.
So a lot of clones are important for that, this is why monuments will become more and more important as you advance in the game, though early on you won't really be able to do a lot with them.
At last it will tell you some weird calculation looking like this in it's vanilla form: stat multi (now)*1+x*Count. x is dependent on the tier of the monument aswell as the amount of upgrades you have done for that monument (I'll come to that later don't worry).
The Count stat is simply the amount of monuments you have build for that type.
So what does this formular apply to? Well you probably recall your (now) multi from the rebirth tab. To make things easy we take the battle multi to be 10. Our example guy has 1 upgrade for the Tomb of gods and exactly 3 Tomb of gods build. So let's switch the variable with the parameters and voilà we get this: 10*(1+450*3) which makes a beautiful 13510. Wow, your battle mutli for this rebirth just got increased by 135100%. That's impressive. Which literally means your battle stat increases by 135100% aswell.

If you didn't understand why i chose these numbers for the formular just reread the paragraphe.

"But wait, you say, I don't have these upgrade things". Well exactly, upgrades will be unlocked once you defeat freya. So this is just for all those people that want to know how upgrades work.

Upgrades

Upgrades are horrendousely expensive buildings that will increase both the x from our formular and the rebirth multiplier you will have. that varies from 0.25 (50% more mutli) to 5 (500% more multi). How much is it? Well the formular goes like this: c/4 where c is sadly not the speed of light but rather the amount of upgrades you have. This means it will cap at 20 upgrades. Every further upgrade will still increase the now multiplier, though it wont increase the rebirth multiplier.

Bear in mind the price to build a monument or an upgrade goes up the more you build. This will vastly diminish your divinity, in order to get more you can either wait a long time or you do some special fights, simply fight the gods in that tab it will give you a decent amount of divinity for now.
I think that should be it on monuments, if i forgot to cover anything, let me know in the comments.
God Power
Probably the most important thing in this game is God Power
it will be used to increase your most important stats which will later on be mandatory do advance.
Here a list of what you can do with god power that actually effect the game:

  • Increase the speed with which you create creations
  • Increase the speed with which you build things
  • Increase your maximum clone count
  • Decrease your autobuy cost for creations that are automatically purchased to build things
  • Increase your statistic multiplier
  • Gain 99.999 clones immediately
  • Gain X divinity
  • Buy better food for you Pets
  • Purchase the improved next at

This is everything you can buy until you hit baal, which will take some time on it's own. So let's get into detail:

Increase the speed with which you create creations

Selfexplainatory, if you take 10 seconds to create one water 10% more creation speed (short cs) will make you take 9 seconds 100% make it 5 seconds and 500% make it 2 seconds. How can you calculate that easily? Well let's say you take 10 seconds, you could also formulate that as you need 100 points for one water. if you take 10 seconds that makes 10 point/s. 100% more points make 20 points/s and since 100/20=5 you will now need 5 seconds. As always the cap is 33.5 creations per second since that is the tickrate in that game (blackbared[bb]).

Increase the speed with which you build things

Just as creation speed but it applies to things like Monuments, Upgrades, or the Divinity generator.

Increase your maximum clone count

More clones=more things you can do simutaniousely and it also affects the rate at which you build things, which will be taken into account for the later guide on what to do with GP.
This will also increase the softcap of 99999, which means you can get 100s of thousands of clones.

Decrease your autobuy cost for creations that are automatically purchased to build things

Whenever you build/create something that requires other creations (assuming you have defeated neph already and your autobuy is turned on) you will automatically buy these things with divinity, if you were to buy 1 Water manually for example you would have to pay 28250 divinity, if you instead build a plant without having any water, though you do have the soil you don't simply pay 28250*2 divinity, but rather (28250*2)*1.2 since your autobuy standartwise costs 20% more divinity, reducing this by 1% for 3 points each will lover your divinity costs by a lot. Though it caps at 100% autobuy cost, no -%age for autobuying :c

Increase your statistic multiplier

This wont matter for you for a long time, but let's say your god multiplier is 1000, though your statistic multiplier is only 500, that would reduce your stat multipliers by 1/4th(since the formular is (all achievments added together)*(god multi+statistics multi). Your statistic multi is capped by your god multi but not vice versa. But trust me, your statistic multi wont be too low for quite some time.

Gain 99.999 clones immediately

Nothing to say here, you can't get more than your clonecap though.

Gain X divinity

Yet again, nothing to say here.

Buy better food for you Pets

Better food means a faster gain of growth which means you can fight better clones which means you can level your pet up faster which means your stats get up higher (also due to you having a higher growth) which gives you higher multis. Don't bother with it early on though.

Purchase the improved next at

99 GP, damn expensive, and just a matter of luxury, in normal training mode you have this: Next at X clones option. In the normal options you can set that a specific amount of clones shall not be carried over. Improved next at will simply send the clones to the next skill once it's available. Handy for speed runs otherwise just a matter of luxury.

So what should you spend your GP on? I'm not going to do the math for you here since that has already been done elsewhere, and that in a very detailed and true way, so if you want to know why you should do that and that check this link out: Guide For GP [www.kongregate.com]

But to sum it up, first you want to get 245% creation speed to blacbar clones once you hit about a duodecillion creationstat.
Then you go for 775% buildingspeed (short bs)
In the meantime every 250-300% bs you should buy one creation count (cc)
Afterwards for every 87.5% bs you buy 10k more clones still following the cc rule.
If you want you can buy the improved next at aswell.
But where do you get these 100s of 100s of GP?
Speedruns.
How do you do them?
That I will explain you next time.
Speedrun Guide
After a long time of no updates for this guide, I finally found the time to write a Speedrun guide.
First of all, what are the goals of Speedruns?

Speedruns are runs that you do in about an hour to 90 minutes, to get the God Power needed for upgrades which is the most important thing in this game.
You say "an hour to 90 minutes?? In that time I wont make it in the 6x green"
You're probably right, but no worries that is normal at first.
So when should you start speedrunning?
According to somethingggg, a high end player, you should start speed running once you hit the 775% bs
245% cs
3 cc
baal defeated
you have enough stat multi for the god you will aim for (that will be the case in 99% of all you guys)
and time.

So this will take you some time which will take you some time, just go with the basic procedure.

Once you hit the required amounts (they are just guidelines, more is better, less is worse but not too bad)
You should rebirth and play 1 hour completely active until you hit a specific god, if you are like 15 minutes close to hit one more, go for that one. Your rebirths might be slower than usual, it's fine, just go for the easy achievments (+10 minutes should be max) and monuments/upgrades. Repeat that until you stabilize at a specific god, which will happen sooner or later around jupiter or slightly below him I guess. 60-90 minutes should be the max amount you should aim for. Then you can try various builds ofr your monuments so that you don't really lose or gain any rebirth multis. Remember these under "stop at" and type the numbers in, this way you can just always build them, rush the god and go back. Don't worry if you just defeated baal and now you need to speed run Jupiter or Susano O. This is no problem at all, just make sure you never rebirth under 60 mintues since you get a penalty for your multis in that case.
It might take you a few runs, and maybe you need to do a few recovery runs aswell (just normal runs to boost your stats. That way you should be able to start speedrunning no issue, but keep in mind speedrunnning requires activity.

Additional tips and hints
  • If the god you hit in 1 hour is baal, lower the time for speedrunning to 45 or less minutes. Keep in mind this will require a recovery run after every speedrun.
  • Bank some God Power in the battle/mystic stat. 10% of your ,since you started speedrunning, gained Gp should be fine
  • It might be weird at first but you will get used to speedrunning sooner or soonish, just ask in the chat if you don't know how to procede further or if you don't feel comfortable with your current way.
  • This Link[www.kongregate.com] contains additional Information and recommended builds for speedrunning.
  • this will be expanded.

Thanks again for all the visitors if you have quesitons, corrections, requests, recommendations, other tips, or just things to say in general feel free to add them.

What for a game is Idling to Rule the Gods?
Misfortune2289 16 Dec, 2023 @ 2:44pm
Fun little thing i found that i dont know if others know is that if you are at the planet stage, to beat the bosses there, you can unnleash might on the baal boss page. It modifies your stats for other pages (or at least this one). Thanks!
nepholaz 22 Jan, 2023 @ 9:58pm
Now for every completed powersurge you get 1% planet multi. That adds onto your 4 power stats: physical, mystic, battle and creation.

Defeating UB's give you also a multi, for every time you defeat an UB, the multi you get from them gets lowered.

For every 5 kills, you get GP

If upgraded to lvl 2, if you defeat the lvl 1 UB while lvl 2, the multi of the lvl 2 UB will get higher. For example:

UB 1 gives 10% multi (0 times killed) and lvl 2 UB gives 20% multi (0 times killed)

after a while I saw this:

UB 1 +/- 8% multi (5 times killed) and UB 2 +/- 25% multi (0 times killed)

And finally I also saw that the planet multi will reset at rebirrth.

(My post was too long, so I had to cut it in half)

I've created my planet a couple days ago and from what I can see its fairly straight forward:

- You build your planet
- You upgrade it to atleast lvl 1
- Train "clones on planet+" and "powersurge+" in the might tab
- Set clones on powersurge in the planet tab (at least 100k or more)
- Have some patience
- Fight the first ultimate being: the planet eater, and use the powersurge-bonus you have saved. Beware though, powersurge bonus is per fight, so after the fight you have to replenish your powersurge. Also keep in mind to have 100k+ clones on powersurge to fight the UB and also fighting UB's can kill your clones.

The monuments tell you by how much they multiply your stats. Only if you upgrade them, they will also contribute to your rebirth multiplier. Upgrading Temple of Gods usually makes the most sense once you can build a couple in a reasonable amount of time, but it's better to focus on Godly Statues if you take a long time to build Temple of Gods.

The rebirth multiplier depends on both your upgrades and the normal count, if a single Temple of God takes you 1, 2 hours, it's better to work on additional Godly Statues and upgrading those. You can also upgrade GS, Pyramid, ToG somewhat equally, which would usually be the best way of gaining the most out of your time, but it requires math. Math is evil. So your choice.

Rule of Thumb: No upgrade, no direct contribution to your rebirth multiplier. Pets add to your rebirth multiplier, the time that has passed, beaten Gods, upgraded Monuments and later down the line, a few additional elements.

How can we tell, if adding Monuments / how much of them and which ones,
will be enough to beat the next boss?
On my 10th rebirth, just did beat Poseidon (easily).
Now I'm adding 1 Temple of God (long timer).
Will this be enough to beat Laima?
I don't know, but my Rebirth Multi on this run is way smaller than the previous times before Rebirthing, so I need to beat Laima on this run (3:20hours in now).

@NorthSouth you kill clones by letting them fight the toughest monster you unlocked
