Pre-grind Information
Important: For maximum results, you'll need to hit Level 40 (aka max level) before starting The Legend of Dead Kel DLC. It is important to do this as the loot you'll get from the DLC area is relative to the level you are when you first enter.

Disclaimer: The grinding process can take a long time to even get 1 part, and the duplication process is very RNG heavy, you'll need to pray you have the materials, patience, and a functioning F5 and F9 keys.

Disclaimer: I do not entirely understand how duplication works, you may not recieve flawless components and instead recieve greater components. Remember to make backup saves in case things hit the fan.

Notice: Successfully following this guide will lead you to extreme power. You will be able to hit harder than 10K for a single slash and nobody will stand in your path. Needless to say, this will make the game easy. If this bothers you, you can easily drop your spoils of the guide as what you get are items and not permanent buffs.
Preparation
Flawless Damaging Components are the best blacksmithing components in the game. These Rivets, Bindings, and Grips give your equipment a +30% Damage Dealt By All Player Sources. This means your 10 damage butterknife will do 13 damage, your bow that does 20 damage will now do 26. This effects everything that hurts; abilities, weapons, blinks, etc. If you need to kill everything fast, these are the components you want.

However, they are also the rarest, highest quality components in the game. By following this guide, you will be gagging on many other flawless components of various usefulness. Sure, Flawless Sustaining Rivets (+2 HP Regen/s) are nice but why pick those over Flawless Energizing Rivets (+2 HP Regen/s, +2 MP Regen/s) or Flawless Damaging Rivets (+30% Damage).

There are things you have to do before you can go swimming in the sea of +30% Damage components, or even attempt to try. Please follow these instructions.
  1. Train yourself to Level 40 BEFORE traveling to Gallows End. This is extremely important as your level when you enter Gallows End determines the loot quality of the entire island and it's resources. You may be able to get away with going a few levels earlier, but I would advise against it.
  2. Travel to Gallows End. This is done via talking to some loser in the Seafoam Tavern in Rathir. Doing so will begin the primary quest line in Legend of Dead Kel. Beware that you will not be able to return to the quest Dark Harbor and you cannot fast travel outside of the island anyway.
  3. Find and talk to Padrig Dowel, herein refered to as 'Paddy', a dwarf found in Cape Solace. He will start the quest line related to a future player owned home called Gravehal Keep. You are to follow his quest line until you cannot continue his quest line no more. His quest involves scavenging the island and bringing him materials so he can restore the keep. Every time you give him the goods, he will ask for some time to restore. Pass time by spamming quick travel around the island until the quest updates saying to return to Paddy. You will run into a wall eventually and cannot continue his quest line. Ignore him for now.
  4. Follow the Dead Kel quest line until you finish the quest Dark Harbor. Finishing Dark Harbor allows you to leave the island by talking to the cute captain lady you met before even entering the island. Finishing Dark Harbor also lets you finish the restoration of Gravehal Keep, a requirement for this guide.
  5. Finish Gravehal Keep. Because Dark Harbor is finished, you may finish Gravehal Keep by giving Paddy the last of his suppies and waiting. Doing so will give you a powerful ally, a busty girl by the name of Myfa Rhonwen and her repeatable quest Diplomacy. Now the real fun begins.
Power through Politics
Diplomacy is a strange quest. It appears to have a large impact, but it doesn't. Diplomacy is a quest that involves... interacting with neighbors by trading or stealing things, declaring war or establishing alliances. But we don't care about any of that except trading. I will continue this guide under the assumption that you are not some poor sod and have enough money to constantly trade and enough hope that Myfa will know what you're looking for. I would replace her in a heartbeat.
  1. Talk to Myfa and begin Diplomacy. Myfa is located inside Gravehal Keep's main hall to the right of the door when you enter. This entire quest is just an interaction and some waiting.
  2. Select Dverga or Emberdeep, the top-left option. These guys have a stock of building materials (useless) and blacksmithing components (godlike). For curiosity's sake, the Varani gives bugs (useless) and golden challices (good for money) and the Ljosalfar gives food (useless) and gems/shards (okay I guess).
  3. Select Trade, the sharp-left option. This option involves sacrificing some of your cash in favor of extorting the supplies in #2. The Raid and Spy options also let you get the same supplies for free, but not as many.
  4. Make a big trade, 10K gold, the top-right option. Depending on how large of a trade you make, you'll get more stuff in 1 go. 10K is the largest option and should be taken as you'll get 8 to 13 items. If only there was a 100K or 1M option...
  5. Sleep. Myfa will spend 24 hours in-game to carry out this trade, seems like a bad use of resources to go sailing and bring back a sachel of metal, but let's not argue it. The most efficient way to burn time is to run upstairs to your bed and sleep for 24. Gravehal Keep is a player owned home, after all. Alternatively, you can run outside and fast travel a couple times.
  6. Collect. Myfa will return, talk to her and you'll be given the items she's procured. This is the most important part. If you've done everything correctly, you'll obtain many Flawless components. What you are looking for in the pop up is Flawless Damaging Rivets, Flawless Damaging Bindings, or Flawless Damaging Grips. You only need one to begin duplication.
  7. Repeat the preceding steps until you've got what you came for. Every attempt will burn 10K gold from your pocket. Alternatively, you can quick-save (F5) before talking to Myfa to get your loot and quick-load (F9) if you fail to get what you want. Doing this is faster, but you miss out on the insane amount of components she gives.

Beware: You are NOT looking for Flawless Damaging Hilts, Fulcrums, Handles, or Shafts. These are secondary components to weapons and act on different rules than the offensive support components of Rivets, Bindings, and Grips. They increase physical damage by 30 points, not all damage by 30%. Also beware that Flawless Damaging String, Lining, and Trim does not exist as they are defensive support components.
Duplication and Save Abuse
If you are this far in the guide, then congratulations. You have spent a long time trying to get a single Flawless Damaging Component. It took me about 80 tries. Now, if we are to become all powerful, of course, we can't rely on Myfa all the time, she is slow and inaccurate. We want to go fast, we have lives outside of video gaming, right? This is where duplication comes in. You may need to have a good Blacksmithing level for proper disassembly.
  1. Make something. Begin blacksmithing, create an item that has the component you want to duplicate and another component of matching category. In this case, if you have Rivets, you can duplicate into bindings and grips, so Helms (Bindings) and Gauntlets (Grips) are fair game. For this guide, I will use examples involving Rivets and Helms.
  2. While crafting, select any Core Component, the Duplication Target Component, and any filler Secondary Component if applicable. Skip anything you don't need to add. The Core Component might be discarded, so pick the cheapest one available. For example, Steel Helm + Flawless Damaging Rivets + Skip + Skip + Skip.
  3. Quick-save! F5! You'll be using this save plenty as the next step is heavily reliant on RNG.
  4. Disassemble your work. If the stars allign, you should get 2 Duplication Target Effect Components. One is your capital, the oringal target, and the other is the sister component. For example, if you disassemble the item stated in #2, you want to get Flawless Damaging Rivets and Flawless Damaging Bindings.
  5. Failure; Quick-load! F9! Prepare to do this alot.
  6. Repeat until mass Components. Try to keep track of what you get an establish a goal of what you want.
Unlimited* Power
*Not actually unlimited% damage total

Once you've had your fill of Flawless Damaging Components, you can begin crafting only the most powerful equipment. Sure, you won't have any health regeneration, but when you can do 10K damage an arrow, who cares.

Now, if only we could do something to make you run faster...

running latest KOA+dlc's off of steam. in wiki it says that the level no longer is what level you were when you started the dlc but when you started the quest. I didn't start any diplomacy till I got to lvl 40. I am getting flawless stuff but no damaging ones yet (15-20 missions I guess so far). do you know if wiki is correct or am I screwed?

@Buyaga_Dodzyo Are you getting Flawless anything? If you are, then all I can say is keep trying. It took me many attempts to get even a single one.

@Buyaga_Dodzyo What level did you enter the island as? If you're not maxed level, then you risk the chance of no chance of Flawless Damaging parts.

@Daredhnu
I saw your message, can you put a link to download your cheat engine CT for Kingdom of Amalur plz ?

i just want to add that if you're going to abuse this you might as well download Cheat Engine to speed things up a bit, it will allow you to scan for values in your game and edit them as you're playing, since you're already "cheating" if you use this guide you might as well speed the process up a bit, i now have 99 of every flawless damaging item.
