Welcome to the Standard Bomb Defusal Guide! Here you will learn how to defuse the standard Variant 1 Explosive found in Freeport.

How the Bomb Works and Button Functions
On the front, you will find 4 screens all defaulted to 0. These are for code input, and you will need to input numbers by decrypting the numbers from the screens on the top of the bomb (see below)

Under each screen, there will be 3 buttons.
1. The switch on the left is the reset button, to default the code back to 0 (incase you make a mistake)
2. The switch on the right is the input button, hold the button to input the code. (Every second you hold it will add 1 to the code.)
3. The big switch on the bottom is the "lock code" switch. Twist it on to input the code you have set.

On the left side of the bomb, you will find a keyboard and a screen. Input the password in there by decrypting the password (see below).

On the right side of the bomb, you will find a button that says "Do Not Press".
This button's function is to input the password and code into the defuse sequence. ONLY PRESS IT IF YOU ARE SURE YOU HAVE PUT IN THE RIGHT PASSWORD, THE RIGHT CODE, AND HAVE ALL LOCK CODE KEYS TWISTED. OTHERWISE, THE BUTTON WILL CAUSE THE BOMB TO EXPLODE PREMATURELY. If you have succesfully put in the correct password, correct code, and have all the lock code keys locked, the bomb will succesfully defuse.

Behind the bomb is a keypad.
Terrorist technology, this keypad is used to arm the bomb. Try not to get your fingerprints on it.

Defusing the Digits
On the top of the explosive, you will find 4 screens showing numbers with the corresponding titles: Alpha, Beta, Charlie, and Delta.
Alpha represents the first digit, Beta the second, Charlie the third, and Delta the last.

Using these algebraic expressions, you can convert these digits into the actual code (With x being the displayed digit):
Example:
Epsilon: (x/2)-3
Epsilon: 10
Decrypt: (10/2)-3
Code to Input: 2

Alpha: (x-4)/2
Beta: (x/3)+3
Charlie: (x+2)-3
Delta: sqrt(x)

Decrypting the Defuse Code
There are a total of 27 password outcomes, and the correct password is determined by the sequence of the correct code. Refer to following graph to find the correct password. Once you have selected a password, enter it into the keypad on the left side and press the "Do Not Press" Button on the right to defuse the bomb.
