Yeah, but you still can't play games directly from the external storage... unlike with XBox. Just use it for media & music basically. WOuld still need an upgrade as well. THanks for the info. Will be shopping soon,

So... if I'm reading this right, just standard external harddrives, like the ones I use on my computer, will work on the ps4pro? Just plug & play?

Wow! That's top o' the line then. We hadn't had the new PS4 long when they got the new 1Tb in, which we immediately grabbed. Space is such an issue, having to delete games to install new ones. Of course we are nearing filling that up. Yeah, a 5TB would be awesome! I shouldn't have read your last comment to my husband, lol. And, external storage would definitely be a game changer on the console.

old one was 500gb but switched it with 2tb :D and not so long ago (march) they released the 4.50 firmware FINALLY enabling (lets just call it unlocking) using external storage for games and apps storage up to 8Tb :) so grabbed a 5TB for that

Good stuff! Games take so much space. You can never get too much terrabytes
