Wasn't the biggest fan of the amount of walking required to solve this but the puzzle was really good. Blind play https://youtu.be/Cn8FUWwKa0g

Fun puzzle! I enjoy that your puzzles make you not only think of WHAT you have to do but WHERE you have to do it.
bullfrog 16 Sep, 2020 @ 11:28pm
Yep, not as good as '(ii)', but still a great puzzle.
Mikeastro  [author] 1 Jan, 2020 @ 6:50am
@Spider_Dawg Thanks :] Interestingly, I've thought about elegant ways to implement that classic riddle into a portal map, but so far I haven't yet found a nice way, like I did with the Towers of Hanoi. This map is pretty meh because of the cluttered ending, but the beginning is okay. I'm glad you liked it :]

So, you've got a rooster, a hen, and a fox, and you need to cross a river with a rowboat but can only take one at a time, and you can't leave the fox alone with either chicken...
Cool map, nice to see the origins of the incremental talos puzzles.

@Nobody No-One I agree with Libbybapa as well. And c'mon, surely they're not that hard :p
Nobody No-One 23 Oct, 2019 @ 2:02pm
I agree with Libbybapa. Either way, I wish your laser maps were still this easy... :P
Mikeastro  [author] 29 Jun, 2018 @ 4:02pm
@Libbybapa I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it, and you do make a good case. I'll consider changing it :)
Libbybapa 29 Jun, 2018 @ 12:32pm
I enjoyed it. I feel like the flip panel/pedestal/laser field setup adds a lot of items and makes the player repeat all the steps they already just did, but doesn't actually add to the puzzle. If that were just a portalable surface, the logic of the puzzle would be the same without the repeat of known steps and all the added items.

@leomievs Thank you! I fully agree with you, which is why Talos (ii) has made its way into my ''Best Of'' collection and this one did not make the cut :)

Nice map! Not as good as Talos II, whose puzzle and design were both better in my opinion, but still enjoyable!
Mikeastro  [author] 25 Jun, 2018 @ 3:48am
@Atom Thank you! Though you can't really reach that platform without the light bridge, so trapping yourself there can't really be done by accident (I think)
@Joric Thanks for the video! I personally don't think your method is 'much' easier than the intended route (albeit somewhat shorter, it's harder to execute) but I'll be sure to keep it in mind :)
Joric 25 Jun, 2018 @ 1:46am
I don't know how logical is this, it's still much easier to put the cube behind the fizzler without portals, maybe fix that shortcut somehow https://youtu.be/Z-XUGkwVOwQ
Psychological Atom 24 Jun, 2018 @ 9:27pm
Excellent map indeed! The only issue is that you can get trapped by that square button area if you don't have the light bridge :)
bullfrog 24 Jun, 2018 @ 9:45am
... and this :)
Mikeastro  [author] 23 Jun, 2018 @ 3:07am
@bullfrog Once more a perfect solution! Thanks for the video :)
bullfrog 23 Jun, 2018 @ 12:55am
... also; spoiler video of alternative bit which is difficult and pointless!
bullfrog 23 Jun, 2018 @ 12:23am
... spoiler video of intended solution? - ignoring the bit from 3m15s to 3m40s where I almost lost the plot :D
Mikeastro  [author] 22 Jun, 2018 @ 2:41am
@bullfrog Thank you! That move is indeed not necessary; most impressive that you managed to pull it off in the first place :P
bullfrog 22 Jun, 2018 @ 2:26am
Brilliant puzzle, I really enjoyed that. I initially did one bit by what I think (hope!) is an unintended method, i.e. walk across the bridge holding a cube directing laser at bridge laser catcher which was damn tricky! I think I did the rest as intended and now know the complete intended method; I'll make and post a walkthrough later to check.
Mikeastro  [author] 14 Jun, 2018 @ 1:58am
@jandlml Thanks; that is good to hear :)
jandlml 13 Jun, 2018 @ 9:42pm
nice litttle map. i think i got your intended solution.
Mikeastro  [author] 2 Jan, 2018 @ 12:23pm
@lapicidas Thank you for your video! This is similar to the flaw pointed out by Jade BGE - I misjudged the distances you can reach exploiting the light bridge. Will fix very soon!
lapicidas 2 Jan, 2018 @ 12:07pm
unintended solution possible ;-)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TH8b5_R5tY
If you fix it, I will play it again. Now I have a look to your other maps.
(I played "Circle" - that's great !!)
Mikeastro  [author] 31 Dec, 2017 @ 6:10pm
Thanks for your explanation. You were on the right track for the final moves, aside from the climbing on cubes thingy. I will try to fix this soon. Thanks again for the feedback :D
Jade BGE 31 Dec, 2017 @ 1:04pm
I stacked both cubes onto the portable flip panel so I could get onto the light bridge and onto the exit area. Shot portal onto flip panel to put cubes in bridge room....
Mikeastro  [author] 30 Dec, 2017 @ 4:43pm
@Jade BGE Thanks for playing! And indeed that doesn't sound quite right; could you please eleborate precisely where you did this so that I can improve the map?
Jade BGE 30 Dec, 2017 @ 3:03pm
Enjoyed this. Don't quite think I got it right because I used the cubes as a step stool to reach the highter portal surface. Something tells me your tests don't work that way...Really good.
Mikeastro  [author] 8 Dec, 2017 @ 10:03am
np but you're right that there's still quite some steps to be taken before you can make it out. Perhaps you could consider trying some of the easier tests from my collection of logic maps to get a feel for the kind of tricks I like to implement, and then come back to solve it once and for all ^^ At any rate, thanks for playing :D
joe98 7 Dec, 2017 @ 9:01pm
Thank you for the tip that solves one step. However I cannot get either cube onto the light bridge meaning that I cannot solve the puzzle.
Mikeastro  [author] 7 Dec, 2017 @ 2:59pm
I mean in the sense that you go to the other side, aim the second cube at the receiver that opens the bridge, go back and use the first cube to aim at the second one, which should open the bridge
joe98 7 Dec, 2017 @ 2:51pm
Because the lazer is over water. The second cube would fall in the water.

So only the first cube can be used for that purpose.
Mikeastro  [author] 7 Dec, 2017 @ 2:40pm
How about you aim the second cube into the receiver that opens the bridge?
joe98 7 Dec, 2017 @ 2:32pm
Well, I use the first redirection cube to start the first fizzler. This opens a bridge. Cross the bridge and set up the second redirection cube. Go back across and aim the first redirectiob cube. The second fizzler is now operating but the bridgr has closed. I can't cross without that bridge so i am stuck!
Mikeastro  [author] 7 Dec, 2017 @ 10:25am
I could give you a hint if you want :] Waiting for someone else to play this could take a while :P
joe98 6 Dec, 2017 @ 8:35pm
I can't get this out. Has anybody succeeded?
