extremely good laser logic

As far as single-cube pure fizzler grid laser redirection puzzles go, I think this one was slightly above average. Always curious to see how many steps can be enforced, and the number here is quite high given the small number of fizzlers. Thumbs up!

@Mr Fab Thanks for playing! It's crazy. This map has been out for more than 3 years, and you are the first to find the shortcut at 13:05 that everyone has continued to overlook o_O Great work! I'm not sure if I can patch it anymore though xD

Good puzzle ! I wish I was in a better state of mind when I play it

My memory's better than I thought as I completed this quite quickly, but still good fun and still a great puzzle.

@BehindPortal Thank you once again :D

Nice little test =] I'm almost done with your workshop, but I kept the hardest few chambers for the last stretch, so I still have a lot of work to do :D This is the first time I've ever recorded a blind run. It felt tense because I'm not confident, but I managed to stick it to the end. I spent too much time finding the step before the last step, partly by forgetting that I didn't need the cube at the end :D Maybe one day I'll try to create advanced versions of some of your chambers that enforce the bizarre solutions I thought of!

My solution: https://youtu.be/QcVLRUwEBtU

Also, I love your music! Could I please know the name of the song in Canonical? I liked that one a lot.

@Teo Thanks :) Glad you liked it
Teo 30 Sep, 2019 @ 4:29pm
I got stuck on the final step for a bit (though it really was the simplest) but after working backwards it turns out nice. Really nice progression of moves in this one, favorited :)
Mikeastro  [author] 15 Sep, 2019 @ 11:15am
@Spider_Dawg Thanks for playing yet again :]
Spider_Dawg 15 Sep, 2019 @ 10:06am
Very nice puzzle, was more complex than it looked at first. I think it was fairly obvious what needed to be done to get to the exit, but not so obvious how to go about it. Thanks yet again.
Mikeastro  [author] 1 Sep, 2019 @ 11:23pm
@kimist108 Indeed for this one it may be useful to first think about the ultimate set up, and then try to work towards that :)
kimist108 1 Sep, 2019 @ 6:22pm
Oh, gravy. That is not exactly what I said when I could not figure out what to do next. Then, I realized everything (cube and portals) were where they needed to be to place the final portal and escape.

@Anpy Thank you! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it :D
anpy 8 Apr, 2019 @ 5:34am
Wow, that was a brilliant puzle! I had to stop and think at every step, the most obvious thing to do next was never the way to go. But every time I figured out what to do, it was really satisfying. Awesome work! Thumbs up and favorite :)
Mikeastro  [author] 7 Mar, 2019 @ 2:52am
@asears16 Excellent work solving it! Once more an interesting video to watch; thanks :)
asears16 6 Mar, 2019 @ 5:25pm
Great laser puzzle, Mike! Luckily my playthrough of it wasn't a disaster, haha...I must finally be getting better at laser and fizzler puzzles. :P

Mikeastro  [author] 5 Mar, 2019 @ 6:33am
@Nobody No-One Thanks; I'm glad you liked it. To justify the slightly awkward exit setup, this would happen to a closed exit door. Like I said, this map was a disaster behind the scenes :|
Nobody No-One 4 Mar, 2019 @ 11:55am
Very cool puzzle with some clever steps. Big thumbs up. Why the open exit + staircase instead of just having the catcher connect to the door?
Mikeastro  [author] 20 Feb, 2019 @ 8:28am
@Requiemsoul I'm happy to hear that you liked it - and thanks for the big compliment :D

Excellent puzzle. Not easy not hard one. You´re a highly creative person. Big Thumbs up!.
Mikeastro  [author] 18 Feb, 2019 @ 1:21pm
@quatrus Excellent work solving it! It's indeed not an easy puzzle
quatrus 18 Feb, 2019 @ 1:01pm
Very difficult. I have a hard time with laser puzzles but managed to get through to exit. Thanks for creating the challenge.

@Joric Yeah I saw your map, but due to an unfortunate misclick it's already spoiled for me that it's basically the tower of hanoi :/ I'll still check it out though, just to appreciate the implementation
@bullfrog Thanks a lot! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it. It's indeed quite tricky
bullfrog 15 Feb, 2019 @ 2:39am
...oh, and added to favourites.
bullfrog 15 Feb, 2019 @ 2:39am
Eight is a great puzzle, but this is excellent. I found there where two key moves: re-spawning the cube and having the cube inline with the laser; the first I got in a reasonable time, the second took me ages. Looked at @Joric's playthrough; all as intended, but a lot, lot longer :P
Joric 15 Feb, 2019 @ 2:17am
@Mikeastro check out my new workshop entry you might like it: Hell's Gate Part 2

That was a great puzzle indeed! The music really fits the disaster theme. :)

@jgaultney Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it :)
@jandlml Whoops again... It's tougher than you might think to estimate the difficulty :P Excellent work solving it!
jandlml 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:52pm
excellent puzzle!! another one that i consider much harder than the difficulty rating. i think it took me 2 and half - 3 hours for me to solve. very happy when i did. favorited!!:steamhappy:
jgaultney 13 Feb, 2019 @ 2:54pm
A great laser puzzle! Very satisfying to solve with at least two "aha" moments. :)
Thumbs up and favorited.
Mikeastro  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 12:03pm
@Leomievs Thanks a lot for the video! I'm glad you liked the puzzle as well as the music. I highly doubt I will ever be able to match Fumbly Bumbly's aesthetics, but I gave it my best shot :P And yeah this seemed like the most natural way to have an open exit... #the_exit_is_open? Your solution was fully intended
Leo 13 Feb, 2019 @ 8:30am
Nice map, with a cool laser puzzle and pretty aesthetics - not Fumbly Bumbly level, but you put some appreciable effort into it. The music was nice too, very relaxing. In the end I see you did have to make it so that the exit door's open by default, but it still fits well. Anyway, good work as always :) here's my blind run: https://youtu.be/K0dQdAVeFiU

A very nice looking and fun to play test,,,well done!!,,:SpRad_ThumbsUp:
Mikeastro  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 4:04am
@Narkodes Thanks :] I agree that that is the nicest step
Narkodes 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:18am
Nice puzzle! The best step: respawning the cube, what causes an activation of the laser catcher behind the first fizzler
Mikeastro  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 1:56am
@Joric Thank you for the video. Your solution was fully intended :]
