Does this mod still work since the last update? Is anyone using it successfully?
Sexy Phenix 15 May, 2023 @ 2:49pm
So this mod just stopped working on my G-portal server. The folder of Rustic is gone under the structure tab in the smithy, is anyone else having the same problem?
Avocado Outlaw 22 Apr, 2023 @ 8:43am
I can't seem to find a discord but we love using this mod! The textures as well are great :) Is there anyway to get open source coding and textures used? Would love to have the textures for planks.
Crazy 22 Apr, 2023 @ 8:42am
Is there any change this could go open source?

Hey we and the members of our Server love your mod. The problem: with a modded Skilltree it does not work... is there a way to make this possible ? Thx for your work
Chuck_Borris 31 May, 2022 @ 3:37am
would it be possible to update the stone structures in this mod to have the same resistance as normal stone? i have mobs damaging the stone walls as if the were wood. they should not be able to damage the stone.

Hey Xylch, I had some questions regarding this mod and I'd love to pick your brain if you're able to chat! Shot you a friend request to make things easier, but let me know if there's an easier way to get a hold of you. Cheers!

@gpcstargate
I have not worked on my mod since the last update I released. Actually, I have not even played Atlas for a few weeks. Atlas was my primary game for over a year, and I still consider it one of the best I have played, but recently I have become more involved in other games.
gpcstargate 30 May, 2020 @ 11:19am

gpcstargate 2 Apr, 2020 @ 8:42pm
Sounds good :steamhappy:
Resolute 2 Apr, 2020 @ 6:59pm
Sounds like you do more testing that Grapeshot does.
Xylch  [author] 2 Apr, 2020 @ 5:09pm
@gpcstargate I loaded the update on my test machine and I did not find any problems.

I have an area on that one where I have all of my custom items set out for testing. All of them were still there and being rendered properly, so the update should not cause you to lose anything. I tried crafting and placing a new item and that worked. The lighthouse lamp still works. I tried opening and closing some doors and windows and those were fine.
gpcstargate 2 Apr, 2020 @ 3:22pm
With the Major Update today .. is everything still good?? I'm on hold for a couple of days if any updating is needed. Thank you
InSpades 16 Mar, 2020 @ 6:14pm
Thank you, Xylch. I like your mod so much that we run it on our 8x8 RP server, ETL Atlas 3xXP/Tame/Harvest.
Tendimus 28 Feb, 2020 @ 6:01pm
Doing great on this mod, I love the updates and direction you are going with it.
Nélo 19 Feb, 2020 @ 1:21am
Thank you very much for your advices @Xylch and @gpcsstargate, you are both helpfull to me.
Thank you again Xylch for your work on this mod, it is very cool, i love it.
Xylch  [author] 17 Feb, 2020 @ 1:07pm
@Kapn'Kaos The mod ID is 1918301368
Xylch  [author] 17 Feb, 2020 @ 1:06pm
@gpcstargate That is good advice. I added some remarks to the description for the mod to warn people this can happen.
Bongzonit 17 Feb, 2020 @ 7:39am
Mod ID?
gpcstargate 17 Feb, 2020 @ 6:25am
@ Nélo .. Always keep a Save backup when playing this game .. it will save ALot of stress .. I save every time I stop playing .. just to be on the safe side.
A little time spent making a save .. will save Many Hours of Pain .. I personally keep at least 3 backups (as _ Save 1@time of day) etc.
Xylch  [author] 16 Feb, 2020 @ 9:35pm
@Nélo You might have started the game while the update was still downloading. This has happened to me with other mods, so now I check that all the mods I am using are in the Active Mods list before I start. If there is a message in the lower right corner saying it is installing a mod, I wait until it is finished.

Unless you have a backup of the game you can restore, I do not think there is any way to bring back what was lost this way.

It would be a better design if the button to start the game was disabled while it was downloading updates, but I do not know of anything I can do as a mod maker to change the way the game handles the mods.

I wish I could be more helpful, but all I can do is offer some advice on how to avoid it in the future.

Hello, Iove your creation, rustic building is my favorite !

But I have a problem, since the last "upgrade", "mise à jour" in french, all my structures built with "rustic building" disapared.

I am really sad because I spent a lot off hours to build a pretty village...

How can I fix it ?

Thank you for create cool things !
Resolute 12 Feb, 2020 @ 10:15pm
In vanilla i used to use wooden steps as my roof lever windows, it does create a nice effect, and does keep the rain out.
gpcstargate 12 Feb, 2020 @ 6:08pm
Xylch .. If you are going to try and make ship doors .. remember (they have rounded tops) could be a minor problem ..
** But if you do .. maybe you could look at RH and LH doors .. I heard it can be done .. but it takes some work doing it. ** .. Just a thought and Thank you
Xylch  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 5:08pm
@gpcstargate The roof window frames are treated as a type of stairs in my mod. Craft a Rustic Wood Stairs, then select Rustic Sloped Doorway as the type.

That is not a very intuitive place, but it made more sense internally where I separated the items under roofs into those that had shingles and those the were just wood. I do not know if it could be changed now without breaking anything already built with them.

To the game, they are the same as the wood roof doors, except for their appearance, so they will keep the rain out.

@Floki I was talking about making windows that snap into the openings in walls built on ships, not into gunports. Doors on ships are handled about the same they are on land, so it mostly involves making some appropriate meshes. However, I think gunport windows would also be good and I agree it would be easier to make a new gunport item to do that.
Lich Lord 12 Feb, 2020 @ 1:39pm
I feel like it would be easier to make your own Gunport with window instead of trying to get your window to snap to the exsisting gunports. Really looking forward to windows on boats in this mod. Would be cool to make a literal house boat.
gpcstargate 12 Feb, 2020 @ 7:47am
Question .. How do I make .. Sloped roof windows as you show .. I could not find frames for them and are they water tight "does the game see them _ as solid" or will I get rained on. ?? Thank you
Xylch  [author] 5 Feb, 2020 @ 5:54pm
I started with copies of the vanilla doors for mine, which is why they have the same limitation on the side they open. I would like to have ones that open on the opposite side myself, but I do not yet know what it would take to change that.
Pelargonia58 4 Feb, 2020 @ 10:09am
So far this is a problem in the vanilla game too. You can change the text on the door but not the door opening alignment either while placing or after. It would be great if the mod could fix this.
gpcstargate 4 Feb, 2020 @ 8:30am
Question .. you have a left hinge door in game now .. CAN you do a right hinge door ??

What I've done for the time being is turn door frame around _ but that puts the wall out of alignment with others. Thank you
Pelargonia58 1 Feb, 2020 @ 6:08pm
Cool, I will watch for that.
Xylch  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 7:35pm
Windows for the portholes is one of the things I want to do.
Pelargonia58 31 Jan, 2020 @ 7:32am
Would love if the windows would also fit the round portholes on the ships or else make a separate window for that.
Resolute 31 Jan, 2020 @ 5:45am
I'm fine with that. I'd rather see you working on adding extra pieces.
Xylch  [author] 29 Jan, 2020 @ 6:44am
@gpcstargate Since the resources for the items in my mod are comparable to what the vanilla ones require, I feel they should not be more durable than those. I will consider adding what I would call reinforced versions of them to the mod, that would require better resources and probably a new skill, but there are other things that are more important to me that I would add first.

I will not be changing the pickup time. Allowing unrestricted pick up is appropriate for things like furniture, but I think parts of a building should be more permanent.

These may not be the responses you wanted to see, but thank you for your suggestions.
