Is it possible to make different instances of this (i.e. one dedicated to music and another dedicated to meme sounds?)
Johji 13 Feb, 2024 @ 8:59am
@jangxx Most of the files have been renamed and they all show up within soundpad. Sometimes within the vr bridge they will show up oddly though. I've seen them come through named as the origin of where i got them. Unsure how i'd adjust that really since the information isn't showing within soundpad itself.

@Johji I'm not sure what your problem is. Maybe the sounds are using weird characters or something? Internally the program is just using Soundpads API and if that's not returning all the sounds, it's outside the scope of this plugin.
jangxx  [author] 6 Jan, 2024 @ 7:59pm
@Random That wasn't "intentional" but it works of course. You could've also downloaded the code from GitHub and ran the development server locally for the same functionality. I wouldn't recommend this solution to casual users, but if you know what you're doing there are many ways to achieve what you wanted - none of them are supported by me however. Good to hear you got it to work though!
Johji 5 Jan, 2024 @ 11:11pm
still having the issue where it only detects a small fraction of the founds i have in soundpad. any recommended fix?
Random • ランドム 4 Jan, 2024 @ 9:06pm
Nah don't worry I figured it out. Just head to
C:\Users\ Your Username \AppData\LocalLow\Curtis English\OVR Toolkit\WorkshopContent\2596213066\html
and open up both control.html and index.html in a browser. Control is the actual Soundpad you see in VR with Index controlling the columns/rows/pages with the edit toggle too.

Not sure if this was intentional or not, but either way I found out how. Either way, I appreciate the work ya'll have done. :hp_kyu:

@Random There is no way to run the edit mode on Desktop, but if you quickly want to add a bunch of sounds, you can use the "Fill Page" feature in combination with Soundpads categories (which are basically playlists). You could for example create a category for each page and then use the "Fill Page" feature to copy them onto the different pages.

As much as how great this is, could there be a way to run edit mode from the desktop? If not, could there be a way to add it manually like having them saved in a text file or something?
LemaDilemma 29 Aug, 2023 @ 6:07pm
I accidentally unbound the hotkey from the main menu in OVR Toolkit and now I am unsure of how to bring it back. Any ideas?
CurtisVL  [developer] 19 Jul, 2023 @ 11:06am
Please appreciate the work community members put into this though. If you can't do better you shouldn't complain it sucks without providing feedback!
Maybe tell the author what issues you faced so they can improve it?
Aporá 19 Jul, 2023 @ 8:20am
just use soundpad regularly this sucks
Link 11 Jun, 2023 @ 8:36pm
Is there any way to edit the soundboard from your desktop to possibly make adding sounds faster?
Johji 30 May, 2023 @ 11:22pm
been trying to use it a few times now but it only seems to recognize four sounds. at first it was just two and now only four out of about one hundred. unsure what is going on with it
jangxx  [author] 23 Jan, 2023 @ 6:11pm
Can you try entering "steam://run/629520" into your web browser and see if Soundpad opens? That is literally all the bridge is doing, so if that doesn't work, something else is wrong on your system (URL handler not registered correctly or something).
Frost_the_dragon90 23 Jan, 2023 @ 5:42pm
Steam version, and I have it enabled
jangxx  [author] 23 Jan, 2023 @ 4:27pm
@Frost_the_dragon90 Are you using the Steam version or the standalone version? If you use the Steam version, setting the path doesn't work and you just need to enable the "Autostart Soundpad from Steam" option instead of setting the Soundpad path.
Frost_the_dragon90 21 Jan, 2023 @ 11:05pm
Setting the path does nothing and it still asks me to open soundpad manually
|Pipe Dreams 30 Dec, 2022 @ 8:20pm
I'm looking forward to trying this! Thanks!
haitham 28 Nov, 2022 @ 11:20am
cool
Yeet McYeet 22 Nov, 2022 @ 6:48pm
@jangxx I see.
jangxx  [author] 22 Nov, 2022 @ 5:18pm
@Yeet No and I'm not planning on adding that feature any time soon. Not only would this make the settings UI more complicated, I would also have to change a bunch of internals to allow this.
Yeet McYeet 22 Nov, 2022 @ 3:01pm
Is there a way to have different amounts of columns and rows between different pages?
jangxx  [author] 19 Nov, 2022 @ 2:11pm
Not officially, no, since the whole frontend is only distributed with the custom app. If you absolutely need to do this, you could go to the GitHub page (very bottom of the readme, here: https://github.com/jangxx/OVRT_Soundpad#developing-the-ovr-toolkit-app) and set up a local development server. Afterwards you can open the settings page and the board in your web browser. This does require some knowledge of using the command line however and is not "officially" supported.
LaVNDR 19 Nov, 2022 @ 10:47am
Ok, cheers. Also, any way to edit the board without having to be in vr? That's more niche QoL so I understand if not
jangxx  [author] 18 Nov, 2022 @ 10:18am
@LaVNDR The bridge puts an icon into your system tray. If it is there, the bridge is running.
LaVNDR 16 Nov, 2022 @ 4:57pm
Is there some indicator that the bridge is working without having to go into VR and launch OVR?
jangxx  [author] 6 Nov, 2022 @ 10:40am
It it possible! Just enter edit mode, click on "Fill Page" in the lower left corner and you will get a menu with loads of different options on how to add sounds to the board in bulk.
_Jax McMacy 5 Nov, 2022 @ 5:24pm
Is it not possible to add groups to the list instead of adding individual sounds?
jangxx  [author] 11 Oct, 2022 @ 9:25am
Sorry guys, I have already found the issue and a new update is on the way.
EyeSea 11 Oct, 2022 @ 7:53am
When I try to use the 1.2 bridge an Error pops up saying "Could not start the http server: None"
Letsayman 11 Oct, 2022 @ 4:41am
I can launch the version 1.1.2-1 before the 1.2.0 but the new update doesn't work for me :/
Letsayman 11 Oct, 2022 @ 4:28am
Everytime i try to launch the new version i always get a error saying: Could not start the http server:none
Please help.
jangxx  [author] 10 Oct, 2022 @ 1:19pm
To everyone asking about an option to add sounds in bulk, this functionality has just been added in version 1.2.0 🎉
PurpleAlike 6 Jul, 2022 @ 5:57pm
do it possible to import an soundpad sound list to it?
i really like how it looks like but am too lazy to set up every 269 sounds into it :slimetabby:
nerfgunchamp 27 Jun, 2022 @ 6:35am
Is there any possible way I can just import all my music at once? I have like 150 files I want to upload unto the soundpad soundboard but it would take very long. Any suggestions?
jangxx  [author] 22 Jun, 2022 @ 2:49pm
@8aron You can try to delete the config file in %localappdata%\jangxx\OVRT Soundpad . Besides that make sure you're on the latest version of the bridge, since this problem should have been fixed in the current version.
8aron 21 Jun, 2022 @ 6:03pm
hey i have an issue where i cant see the soundboard. I hit open sound board and nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling OVR reinstalling the mod, and reinstalling the bridge app but nothing has worked so far.
MementoMori 14 Mar, 2022 @ 12:56am
its nice thing to add in ur ovr
Dexterity 28 Jan, 2022 @ 5:48am
What's the meaning of this less options no categories and it works just fine as having a window on the actual soundpad menu
CurtisVL  [developer] 9 Jan, 2022 @ 6:45pm
Thanks for the update!
GushingGranny 27 Sep, 2021 @ 6:20pm
Crap forgot to mention that disabling the desktop theatre seemed to work, hope this helps anyone else with the same problem
CurtisVL  [developer] 20 Sep, 2021 @ 8:04am
Oh yeah, you can turn off Game Theatre in the Steam client settings. :)
jangxx  [author] 20 Sep, 2021 @ 3:47am
Honestly I have no idea about the specifics and problems of the Steam version of Soundpad since I bought it from the website and can just run it normally. There should be an option to disable the Desktop Theatre though, right? Otherwise you should probably contact the Soundpad developer about this, since it's beyond the scope of this workshop item. Maybe he can give you some pointers on how to run it next to a VR app.
CurtisVL  [developer] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 9:20pm
Maybe try opening it before opening VR then I guess.
Maybe Jangxx can provide better insight as they use Soundpad and created this. I was just weighing in with my thoughts. :)
GushingGranny 19 Sep, 2021 @ 8:24pm
Didn't work :/
CurtisVL  [developer] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 7:38pm
May be best to open Soundpad via its files directly if you're allowed to, instead of through Steam.
GushingGranny 19 Sep, 2021 @ 7:35pm
Do you know how I can have Soundpad and a vr game run at the same time? Anytime I open a game and then Soundpad it exits the game and opens Desktop Theatre, and when I do it vice versa it opens Desktop Theatre and then opening a game just close Soundpad and I can't use any sounds.
jangxx  [author] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 11:51am
Yep correct, you can place it anywhere you want. I would recommend to put in in C:\\Program Files and then to simply create a shortcut on the desktop or something.
CurtisVL  [developer] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 11:12am
Best not to put stuff in OVR Toolkit's install folder. :)
CurtisVL  [developer] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 11:12am
Nope, just place it anywhere you'd like an run it I believe.
