The fluctuation of the power is actually a small game mechanic as it ties in with an EE step.
You can pretty much ignore anything that's too dark to see if you wish you give it another try!

Seriously the map as so annoyingly dark i just refused to even look up the easter egg or anything because i literally could not see.
The crafting table is next to the hole on the third floor.

It's true, it is a dark map, though did not realize it might be too dark for some...just out of curiosity, does it improve if you turn off ambient lighting?
You definitely do not need to spend 3k points to leave pack a punch, could you elaborate on that please? Also filling the soul boxes should allow travel between the different floors free of charge.
When you say you couldn't find a way out of the tower, do you mean the apartments? Were you having trouble finding the exit door? Just gathering as much info to apply relevant updates.

I believe the random damage is residue from Brutus' grenades, I'll make sure to look into it.
