I can see what you mean!
It's more meant to be a sort of quiet contemplation and awe rather than exhilaration and excitedness. Facial flexes would definitely help sell this and make him look less disappointed or impatient.

I love it except for his stance AFTER the pop

He just looks mildly disappointed, or impatient

If anything I can see him being started by it due to drunkenness

Or overly excited

Or it could work better with different reactions from every merc
