i like my works so much, because i put soul and lots time in it
Being artist nowadays sucks,
people prefer to be scammed.
Like it was with battlebit over battlefield 3/4.
But Battlebit died quickly and this was expected, because how much quality and work it was lacking.
no future in this way of things.
Battlefield is now on the hype again, and i hope will be later again and again.
1. Taking away too much team color on the body cosmetics
2. The way soldier stands in the game has his arms and rocket launcher block the tiny red/blu box (even worse if he looks down or leans down to reload)
3. Making the hat a wizards hat was a bad idea and doesn't match the theming of the cosmetics
4. The detail on the hat is too small making it look bad from afar
5. You wouldn't be able to tell this is soldier without the rocket launcher
6. Misleading screenshots putting him in idealize poses where the tiny amount of red gets shown
This looks more stylized, like Half Life style.
However, it feels like it was designed for a completely different game.
With the rest of the set, it just looks like a completely non-TF2 character, not containing a single bit of the soldier's colour palette or silhouette. Plus, making the majority of his colours bland and neutral is not a good idea.
The textures and way you promote this make it look like something from a completely different game, but I'm not sure what that "completely different game" is. It's gritty, grainy and rough. Really cool-looking, but not at all TF2-y.
You will not do the same work that i did ever, because how hard it was for me.
And with trend of no official updates i don't see that someone else will try make same thing.
it's easier to make anything else but something new & unique, all alone.
Look, fam, I genuinely did like your warpaints, and I hate that the Workshop is incapable of submitting work with no clear intent, like telling Valve, "Hey, I’m a big fan of the game and just wanted to model this fun concept with no expectation of it getting added."
But as it stands, every submission is a valid attempt at trying to get their work officially added to TF2, and in terms of stylistic and quality standards, I don’t find this sufficient enough to get added.
Please don’t feel discouraged or insulted by any of these comments. I do wish you the best of luck and encourage you to work with others (or even on your own) while keeping a tighter focus on retaining the game’s art style.
Much love and best of luck.
All textures are carefully painted to match materials _soft and hard fabric, synthetic material. I just don't wanna it being too busy and overdetailed with even more texturing like cartoonish
some stroke brushes like on black box, so i've just stick with a bit more simplicity,
Also, i think the red version could benefit from a larger, dulled colour region (on the vest) on the front like how the blue variant is shown as i think it'll make it feel more suited to the game rather than just overwhelmingly green.
Other than those two points though you did a great job so don't put yourself down especially since this is your first project and there's definitely worse out there.
