I found another ability code that seems to be causing flyover spam.

Thank you for your work. After recording and reviewing some footage using the newly added INI settings, I was able to identify a few more ability codes that cause repeated flyover text spam.

The ability called Danger Sense in that class is now in the exclusion list. I've also added a new config toggle in XComGame.ini If you ever find yourself spammed by "They will remember this" messages, save, close the game, and toggle this to true. Go back into the game and you'll instead see the name of the ability. That way you can report it to me, to add in the exclusion list.

You have soldiers with abilities that need to be in the excluded list. I can't know what those are in advance. You might be able to recognize the icon in the message and tell me which ability it is. Like I did earlier today for Kei's report a few comments below.

I encountered a problem. One team would frequently pop up "they will remember this" during the mission. It was so frequent that it was a bit of a waste of time. However, other teams rarely had this problem.

It is red if it's negative, but only a few things decrease cohesion. (Chosen captures, Friendly fire, Deaths and some Non-Lethal Abilities like punching a mind controlled teammate)

I'm not entirely sure, but it seems that using this mod together:

...causes flyover texts to spam at the beginning of every turn. The officers added by this mod grant various stat buffs to nearby soldiers, and it appears these buffs are triggering all types of bond-related effects.

When there are no officers from this mod in the squad, the flyover spam issue does not occur, so I suspect this mod might be one of the causes. Could you please look into this and prevent those abilities from triggering flyover texts?

The original functionality of the Complex Bonds Add-on remains unchanged. You can go into the Soldier Bonds tab and manually set all the bonds at any moment. It's how you still have to do it for Family bonds, and how you can set your soldiers with predefined love interests.

interesting, I've always wanted to see mods on the similar line of this. I have various characters who i feel would benefit a lot from a mod like this. Just one question. You can use the console to apply soldier bonds between one and other in the base game, is it possible to apply the same stuff with one and other right away or can you only develop it in game. Like can you apply romance between 2 soldiers in console.

Go into the Soldier Bonds tab and see if the bar is maxed out. I've raised the cap, bonds that were maxed out before you installed this mod aren't any more, but visually the game might still think they are.

Is this mod supposed to prevent me from forming regular bonds with my soldiers? I am unable to form or upgrade bonds I had before and I can't use the training center at all the drop down is blocked out even though I get the pop up that soldier have enough cohesion.

Nice, thanks. I really disliked how it seemed like only my starting soldiers ever got any good cohesion between themselves while new ones get absolute trash cohesion scores.

@Kaldin Yes if 2 soldiers are marked as Family they won't fall in love. Unlike for Polyamory you won't be getting an ini toggle for AllowIncest. You have to toggle them manually, that's still an option but it's on you if you use it.

I did think about utilizing negative cohesion in some way, but it's just not easy to get. It's already hard enough to friendly fire. I could spend the effort to make break up events at negative cohesion but nobody would see it. To hit -50 cohesion you'd need to fail 2 mission in a row with 2 friendly fire incidents between the same 2 soldiers that both survive. These are conditions for a secret achievement not something anyone is ever expected to worry about playing normally. It's too rare to be worthwhile, for now.

Out of curiosity, do you think you'll ever do something with the Negative Cohesion Enabler mod I somehow cajoled you into making?


Something like actual negative (or mostly-negative) effects upon forming Negative Bonds where you'd actually consider *not* taking two soldiers together on a mission, and maybe adding a Couples Therapy slot to the Training Center to reset such negative bonds.

Unless you are referring to something else of course, but I did just load up an old save and I could level up old bonds just fine in the training center.

This is a small side-effect of me increasing the cohesion required to level up a bond. In existing campaigns the game still thinks you need less. It's not a bug I don't think, you just need to get a little bit more cohesion to max it out again.

There are still prompts for original version relationship - bonding enhancement, but the bonding - enhancement button in the training center is ineffective.

Or it could be an "Aura" type perk one of your soldier has, like Solace. I have filtered out base game Solace but there are variants out there that I must add to the blocked list once people report them.

@Canthyse It's just another ability that some mod applies to your soldiers that I must filter out. There will be a few of those I have to fix manually. Can you share your save file?
As for smoke it should trigger positive cohesion (green message). Smoke is a support ability.

Got same issue as Tedster, but in a covert escape, with no sitreps. At turn start, the flyover its on all soldiers.
Also the smoke triggers it. Im using the normal smoke, but I have some mods that modifies it, like Rusty Concealing Smoke and Blinding Smoke. Maybe blinding does a negative cohesion since it blinds to enemies, but not to allies, but still triggers the cohesion.
