I'm disappointed that the entire floor of the school is just blank... as in it just missing textures or warped into the ground :( Thought I was missing an asset but I don't think so.

it is an oldie but a goody! I realized my computer was lagging and wouldnt load their page! Did you plan to make a High school? I have not seen one yet if you did.

That will happen if the SubBuilding Enabler mod is either not present or not working.

Now that SubBuildings are supported in the base game without mods, I plan on updating this asset to not require the mod. But I've been so busy with the refinery project that it just keeps getting bumped... Not to mention that I don't really like how the ground texture turned out in the first place, I really advise using the non-SubBuilding version.

Hi I love this modular school idea and it's beautifully rendered. However, I am having a problem with getting blue ground all around the school. I have all parts of the school and all assets. Any idea why this is? I wonder if it's related to the sub buildings (don't have the mod since it's no longer necessary). Any ideas?

yeah, either one of two things will happen:
It's a temporary bug that will be patched or I'll update the asset to remove the reliance on the now depricated SBE mod.
Option 2 may take a little bit of time due to being wrapped up with the refinery project: http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/71613-collaboration-lets-make-an-oil-refinery-anyone-know-anything-about-the-petroleum-industry/

As a workaround, if you would still like to use the model, give the non SBE asset a shot:

@bsavello - i had a line up of trucks at the school all empty then leaving with 100%. I've had to stop using as well for the moment.

I'm also noticing the garbage collection being absurd. I have route where multiple trucks go by at a time. they'll come by at 1% and immediately as they pass the building they hit 100%. I've had to remove the schools from my city currenty, which makes me sad because this is the best school on the workshop.

yeah, I've noticed that almost all buildings larger than 4x4 accumulate garbage a lot faster than before with the new update.

Since the latest update, I am finding that this module of the school accumulates rubbish very quickly. When a rubbish truck comes to collect, it pauses for a moment on the corner of the gymnasium, fills to 100% capacity (then returns to centre), leaving the trucks unable to collect the rubbish from the main school module

SubBuildings can use a different shader than the main building, so I used it to make a terrain conforming custom ground texture while having a main building that doesn't go all slanty on a slope.
I used the airport terminal because the tutorial said so, after learning more about it I found that you can use any template you want.
Using the asset without the sub building, linked at the top of the posting, won't leave you without any serious features.

@Badi_Dea - it was a Goodi_Dea to offer a version without the custom ground texture :) For me the Subbuilding was no problem.

Download and use that asset if you can't get the sub-building mod to work properly or if you just don't like the mowed grass.

I really liked the custom ground texture, sorry you guys didn't :-/
To make up for it, I'll upload something that I have been saving for late next week! keep on the lookout for a nice new power plant!

Yeah, in the last picture, withe the school surrounded with pavement, the grass seems quite out of place. Perhaps it should be darker, or perhaps the problem is that the grass itself doesn't fit with its surroundings

I really love the school, but the grass texture just stands out like a sore thumb. Do you plan on adding just the vanilla texture of grass?

I can't get the ground working on the main school, it's just empty. It works fine for the others. Then I noticed that the ground requires After Dark. Is it possible to use this without that DLC? Forgive the dumb questions, but I'm a new to C:S.

@walmer: I don't think it works like that - you didn't happen to copy the asset from its workshop folder and accidentially overwrite one of the other's SubBuildingsDefinition.xml files?

@Jacques Chirac & mvincent17781: I wish the game had a mowed grass ground type, it just doesn't look right having either concrete or untamed wildnerness a tile infront of the school.

these buildings sub build code messes with the prudential center and united center assets so you get just half a building. now even when i delete your assets and unsubsribe i get null object warnings until i put them back. can this be fixed ??

You also could open the building in the asset editor and create your own ground in-game, no reliance on mods there :-)

Well... I isntalled it, but that probably IS the issue...mods just don't want to work for me anymore :( I can't figure out why, oh well. Thanks for the awesome buildings! I think I am gonna have to reinstall the game.
