Current mod version: 2.1b-Scrat-rev7

Nothing right now, minor bug fixes will come tho.

What is ReGrowth?

ReGrowth is a mod deeply influenced by the philosophy of the Vanilla Expanded Series and the understanding how biomes work, what role they play in your game. Everything added was made to fit or mirror vanilla. From a simple UI texture to a new more complex system, being as performance and vanilla friendly is the main objective we have.

This module adds 11 new extinct animals to Rimworld, brought back to life with the wonders of genetic engineering. It is quite that simple actually. All of them fit perfectly into vanilla Rimworld and will spawn in their respective biomes, but are rarer than normal vanilla animals!
Interesting fact, dinosaur worlds are actually in Rimworlds lore! There is a planet called "Zoutera" that is classified as a Dino-world.

All of these lovely animals have been made as a commission by Erin, who is quite literally the queen of making Rimworld animals. Her work is amazing! Luizi gave some of them a slight touch up for the remastered version.

ReGrowth is designed to be as lightweight as possible, adding the minimum of new code required for its auditions to work.

These are all the mods we currently support from our end:

  • ReGrowth: Aspen

Q: Can this mod be added to an existing save?
A: Yes it can, but be aware some content like new terrain might require a new save to fully work.

Q: Can this mod be removed from a save?
A: It depends. Technically it can be, but I will not provide support if you do.

Q: Can all of them be tamed?
A: Yes, of course!

Q: Can I disable some of the animals?
A: Yes, you find a section called "Animal Toggles" in the mod settings. There you can disable any animal you want.

Q: Can I use this and "Megafauna"?
A: Yes, both mods work alongside each other just fine.

I really hope this mod gets updated for 1.6 … I miss my dodos and terror birds.

i only seem to have wild male dodos spawn in my jungle biome colony. and they are still named "cock" even while wild

Living in a grassland biome and the terror birds are more common than herd animals (and smaller predators too, like veloceraptors or foxes). Consistently, there's 5-7 on the map, and I actively try to hunt them regularly to reduce their numbers. Considering how dangerous they are (and the fact that they keep eating all of the ibex-like animals, and nothing tries to eat them), it might be worth trying to tone down their spawn rate.

It's like having a den of 3 bears spawn in every other day haha.

Are male wild dodos supposed to just have "cock" as their name ?

i dont think i have a mod that is renaming male birds to "cock" since cassowaries and kiwis arent touched by this

I found a small bug. None of the animals in this mod have a <soundEating> tag in their XML. This means that they're completely silent when eating. For all vanilla animals, there's XML tags like <soundEating>PredatorLarge_Eat</soundEating>, <soundEating>PredatorSmall_Eat</soundEating>, <soundEating>Herbivore_Eat</soundEating>, etc.

Great update

The May 4 update did not fix it. However, I tried the pull request on Github by @TGrumms in a local copy and that worked. So it needs to be merged and distributed to Steam.

There was an update on May 4, does anyone know if that fixed it? The changelog doesn't show anything and I don't see a comment from the mod authors

Hope they incorporate your pull request. The changes work on my end. No more red Xs.
