Description
Ninja is an extension for the Gothic game series that offers more possibilities for patches. It lays the foundation for feature-rich patches, well beyond mere graphical changes.

About
Modifications of the Gothic video games have succeeded to impress for well over a decade. Graphical changes to the games may be deployed as modular patches running independently side-by-side. Other aspects of the games, such as the story, however, can only be replaced as a whole. This is due to the compiled formats in which these resources are collected.

This has limited such modifications of the games to be exclusive in form of separate self-contained "games". To the frustration of many players, combining their favorite mods is not possible. Even the smallest improvement or bug fix of the original games demands an entirely independent "mod" incompatible with any other mods.

Ninja lifts this constraint by extending the scope of the aforementioned modular patches to any aspect of the game, instead of only mere graphical enhancements. This empowers them to the extent of mods, while retaining their modular behavior. They may be stacked and combined at will, enriching the modding landscape for players and raising it to a new level.

@LlamaSpitsFire Install the Toolkit, like the error message says. You can find Toolkit in the Steam Workshop as well.

Removing _delete_me.vdf helps a little - game is now loading with Ninja subscribed but there is still issue with plugin Bonus Independent Training - after enabling it shows upon startup "Missing dependency" error

Deleting the file worked for me.
Thanks @mud-freak

If really not a hidden file (need to enable showing hidden files), try completely unsubscribing from Ninja, starting Gothic, then restarting Steam and finally resubscribing. That‘s just a guess. The error says there is a file _delete_me.vdf in the Data directory while the game is running.

Same Issue as waldlaeufer here: Problem is thet the file "_delete_me.vdf" is nowhere to be found in the steam game directory

@waldlaeufer Thanks for reporting that! That file is a left-over from a previous Gothic session that seemingly didn't clean up properly. In your Steam directory find the Data folder in Gothic 2 ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gothic II\Data ) and delete the file _delete_me.vdf in there. It might be a hidden file.

How can I remove it or solve the problem?

There will be a release that should reduce the false-positive detections. There is just little time at the moment. Please be patient or verify the software using the check sums from the above linked website and add exclusions once convinced.
