Description
"With this mod for the games "Gothic" and "Gothic 2", I want to bring the engine of those games into a more modern state. Through an own implementation of the DirectDraw-API and using hooking and assemblercode-modifications of gothics intern engine calls, I have managed to completely replace gothics old rendering architecture with a new one, which is able to utilize more of the current GPU generations power for rendering. Since Gothic's engine in its original state tries to cull as much as possible, this takes a lot of work from the CPU, which was slowing down the game even on todays processors. While the original renderer did a really great job with the tech from 2002, GPUs have grown much faster.

And now, that they can actually use their power to render, we not only get a big performance boost on most systems, but also more features."

This is very strange, because the union contains LAA(Large Address Aware)

System is Windows 10
gtx 3080ti and i7-12700k
mod list is:

But i have also tried with just:

With GD3D11 i get a memory allocation error after a couple saves, without it or with the legacy edition the game crashes after a few minutes with an access violation error.

@Perkele absolute, you can change your resolution and other settings in Gothic/System/GD3D11/UserSettings.ini:

Width=1920
Height=1080
Hi, please accept the invitation to be a friend, I need your help, if you can help here, I'm very glad: I accidentally put the resolution in the graphics settings gd3dx11 4k, the menu became mod very small and I can not adjust it now, do you know how to solve the problem? Tearing down the game/mods did not give any result.

I deleted and reinstalled everything, and the game was updated. But nothing is working. I even copied the old version of the game (I have a working build of steam + workshop mods saved just in case), but it still doesn't work. It's unclear what happened. On February 24, 2025, the game worked perfectly. But it doesn't start today. Only removing GD3D11 helped.

I haven't played for a month, so I decided to play. I start the game and it doesn't start anymore, it gives an error that this mod is not loading. After disabling this mod in the game settings, the game started running and is working normally. Even the steam overlay started working perfectly, although an error is displayed when recording a video game. Why did you need to change anything, everything was perfect anyway?
