AGOT - Armies of Westeros

Description
AGOT: Armies of Westeros is a submod for A Game of Thrones mod.

Features
  • Replaces all the men at arms regiment pictures with new ones.
  • Adds 39 new regiments in total (so far). Some of them are cultural regiments, others are recruited in specific areas/castles.
  • Adds two more regiments for House Targaryen: Dragon Hunters (an archer regiment) and Dragon Knights (a heavy cavalry regiment).
  • Adds two more regiments for House Stark: Knights of Winterfell (heavy cavalry regiment recruited by the owner of Winterfell Castle) and Guards of Winterfell (a heavy infantry regiment requiring ownership of Winterfell).
  • Adds one regiment for House Frey: The Twins Guards (heavy infantry requiring ownership of The Twins)
  • Adds one regiment for House Bolton: The Dreadfort Impalers (pike regiment requiring ownership of The Dreadfort)
  • Adds three new regiments for the Ironborn culture: Harbingers (archer regiment), Kracken Guard (pike regiment) and Wavebreakers (Outriders or medium cavalry regiment)
  • Rebalances some men at arms stats and numbers.
  • Adds different terrain bonuses and penalties, and also seasonal bonuses and penalties for a more realistic approach of military matters.
  • For titles needed to recruit some of the local/zonal/area specific regiments go to Crusader Kings III launcher, then go to the playset containing AoW sub-mod, click the [...] right of the mod's name, and then press the "show in folder" option. It will open a window of the mod's location. There, in mod's location, you can find a text file called Recruitment. Open it and you'll find the specific titles needed for some of the regiments. In the case of the AoW sub-mod you need one of those titles in order to recruit the specific regiment, not all of them. Just to be clear.

Future plans
  • Adding a few more regiments for each culture and maybe restructure the tradition system to make it more immersive.
  • Adding the Essos regiment pictures as soon as the AGOT team will implement them into their mod. This may be done separately or inside of this submod, depending on how the AGOT will implement their new work into their mod.
  • To restructure A.I. recruitment for more diverse armies.

Compatible Mods

Compatibility and load order
X Achievement Compatible
✔ Ironman Compatible
✔ Existing Saved Game Compatible
  • Should be loaded after the AGOT mod.
  • If you use AGOT: Canon Children and experience crashes, then load Armies of Westeros before Canon Children.
  • Should be compatible with any other mod that requires AGOT. The only exception are submods that alter the men at arms files, but it depends on the way it's done. So it should be compatible with almost everything, as long as AGOT is compatible with it.
  • If you encounter any problems or crashes please do this:
    1. Go to the launcher, the to the playlist the mod is part of, and there you will see three suspension points, right of the mod's name. Click the "show in folder" option. This will open a window with the mod files in the Steam folder where they have been downloaded.
    2. Disable the mod from the playlist.
    3. Unsubscribe from the AoW mod via the Steam Workshop.
    4. If there are any files left in the Steam mod folder, delete those.
    5. Resubscribe to the mod via Steam.
    6. Enable the mod in the playlist.
    7. Play the game. Hopefully your problems are now gone.

And maybe a little boost for riverlands heavy infantry. They are really weak
compared to other cultural regiments.

Yes, heavy cavalry will probably be added to the Riverlands.

I mean adding more regiments, like heavy cav or infantry. Bowmen seems pretty good.

@nathan.dugray I don't know. I know that there were some issues in the past. Therefore, if there is no compatibility patch, probably not.

Hi. Is this mod compatible with agot+ and legacy of valerya ?
Syrius  [author] 15 Jun @ 7:07am
@Dark Seed Juice, you mean better stats or adding more regiments?
Dark Seed Juice 14 Jun @ 3:09pm
Thanks for the mod. Will you improve riverlands regiments ?

@Veslefrikk in base mod same with ironwood spears
Syrius  [author] 8 Jun @ 6:18am
Yeah, I think so. In the second-last update they changed some if the recruitment parameters and I just use those for compatibility. That is probably the issue. I will take a look into it at some point.

Hi. It seems to be an issue with the MAA where the different cultures have too many options available that they should not have. For example the Ironborn can recruit Ironwood spears and Heavy Cavalry etc, and the Rivermen can recruit River bows, crossbowmen and normal Bowmen etc. I think it may be from the base mod itself, or am i missing something here? I dont remember it being like this before.
