DISCLAIMER:
Any resemblance to any person or organisation, real or fake is purely coincidental. The political stances depicted by factions within the mod do not reflect those of the author, this mod is made for fun and no political commentary will be tolerated

This mod aims to depict a fictional Middle Eastern power in the Arma 3 2035 setting known as the Middle Eastern Coalition (MEC) as well as some of the internal factions that oppose them, on release this is the Lions of the Mujahideen, an Islamic extremist group that has risen to prominence in the Middle East in recent years. Initially formed as a political and military alliance, increasing foreign intervention and the growing threat of Iran prompted these nations to unite into a federal nation. The MEC often clashes with Iran, Iraq, Israel as well as various insurgent groups. Despite their staunch anti-Iranian stance, they still maintain good relations with CSAT member and aligned states such as Russia and China. They also maintain cordial relations with the most of Europe, however tensions have been brewing with the US and UK, and even their European allies are beginning to distance themselves after Yasir al-Assad's seizure of power in a military coup in the late 2020s. Obviously, the MEC is heavily inspired by the faction of the same name from the Battlefield franchise, as well as their Squad counterparts the Middle Eastern Alliance, with some real world inspiration taken too. The Lions are primarily inspired by ISIS. Apart from the two CDLCs, the only dependency is the fabulous Aegis addon, however this mod contains an optional soft dependency for the GM: Cold War Germany CDLC, meaning that new content will automatically be added to the factions when running the DLC. Check below to see the content added with the soft dependency. There is also an official Antistasi Ultimate compatibility patch available here

-2 Primary Factions
-1 Police Faction
-4 Sub-factions within the MEC (Regulars, Reservists, Special Forces and Revolutionary Guard
-Retextured Gear + Vehicles From Vanilla A3, Western Sahara, Aegis + Reaction Forces
-Custom scripted VBIED vehicle compatible with both AI and players
-GM Bonus Content
-Official Antistasi Ultimate Support

Formed initially in the mid 2020's as a military and political alliance, increasing foreign interference in the region and the effects of the Black Recession caused the alliance to grow closer until the eventual establishment of a federation known as the Middle Eastern Coalition. While not as technologically advanced as many of their neighbours, they field a large military with a mixture of Eastern and Western equipment, although much of it is becoming outdated. While initially a democratic state, within 4 years of the nation's establishment 2 military coups were attempted, while the first failed, the second, lead by Colonel Yasir al-Assad succeeded. Al-Assad's government ramped up the anti-Iranian and anti-Western rhetoric to new levels, and massively stripped away power from the individual states of the union. The MEC often finds themselves in smaller scale skirmishes against neighbouring Iran, Iraq and Israel, as well as dealing with multiple insurgencies, the most notorious of which being the Lions of the Mujahideen.

The Lions of the Mujahideen are an Islamic Extremist group formed around the same time as the MEC. It's founder, Amir al-Khansaawi is a veteran of ISIS during the height of it's power in the mid 2010's. His devotion to his ideology only grew after he was detained by Iraqi authorities in 2015 and remained incarcerated for over a decade in a cramped prison camp until he escaped during a prison break. Appealing to former ISIS fighter's and former children of the Caliphate who grew up with the ideology ingrained in their psyche, he very quickly began to gain prominence in the region, and soon began seizing large areas of territory across the Middle East, as well as invigorating similar movements abroad in Africa and South East Asia . The group is known for their brutal tactics and disregard for international law, with many experts dubbing them "the new ISIS" both due to their similar ideology and the comparable power.

The Mesopotamian Federal Police are the official police force of the MEC, carrying out everyday policing as well as high value raids on certain targets. They are fairly poorly equipped, with modern weapons rare among their ranks, many officers still carry ageing AKM's. Despite this, their Counter Terrorism Service is a well trained force that has proven effective at eliminating local cells of insurgents. The sudden rise of the Lions of the Mujahideen has dragged the police into a direct combat role in many cases, a role that they have suffered high casualties in due to the lack of needed training.

QAV is something I'd like to take a look at when there's more vehicles that fit my vision of the mod, but no promises. The Type 08 is a good shout though

is there a plan for a soft compat for QAV vehicles? I'd particularly like to see the type 08 pack and Chally 2 in this camo!

Yes

Is there a fix planned in a future update for the missing sub-factions in zeus?

Everything but the reservists have been missing since I think the Update 1.0.2 launched for the reaction forces CDLC and now even the reservists sub-faction is missing from the zeus menu.

I hope this gets fixed in a future update other than that I am loving the mod and I am looking forward to playing any future mods you release

yeah you're not the first person to bring it up but as I said, I don't touch the liveries myself so I don't think it's an issue with my mod specifically. Glad to hear you're enjoying tho
Venenors 19 Jun @ 3:07pm
alright i will poke around my modlist to see whats up

fantastic mod tho!, having lots of fun playing antistasi with this
Hyena  [author] 19 Jun @ 3:00pm
they use default GM liveries so I really don't know why, you may have a mod interfering with the base classes or something
Venenors 19 Jun @ 2:56pm
for some reason all of the global mobilization Lions of the Mujahadeen vehicles spawn nearly invisible, only wheels/tracks and other small details are visible.

Pretty sure its a texture issue, since if you manage to give them any other paintjob they work fine.
Hyena  [author] 17 Jun @ 6:39am
Can't say I've had any issues recently, but will investigate
Bonmpa 17 Jun @ 4:26am
infantry units don't appear in zeus for some reason
