Has anyone been able to reach out to Gearbox and contact them about the official beta patch and this mod? It seems to me like the beta patch should be released out of beta and this community patch (at least most of it) should be integrated into the vanilla game.

On GOG this is a common thing for them to do with integrating community fixes into the base game. It's very strange and disappointing how Gearbox just went completely silent and dark on this game.
