Mounting Pack Animals in Caravans Results in animals left behind/lost
Not entirely sure if this is giddy up related, but any time I try to set pawns to mount animals in caravans, they either get left behind in my main encampment, or if the caravan is actually underway already when I set them to ride, it can cause the mounted animals to be 'lost' immediately upon setting the caravan back in motion.

It is Giddy Caravan. I had to disable it because it somehow broke itself after working perfectly for month. Slow going on the map without mounts!

This used to be a conflict with Save our Ship 2, though I fixed it. Unfortunately some people are still getting the issue with that mod. I can't reproduce it, so I can't fix it either. If anyone manages to reproduce it with as few mods as possible, please let me know, then I'll take a look at it.

With the most recent version of Giddy-UP caravans and SOS2, I encountered the issue in my large modded save, so I did some testing on a barebones setup with only Giddy-UP Core, Caravans, and Save Our Ship 2. Both the latest versions. I understand you are busy, but if you do have the time, a possible compatibility fix would be appreciated!

Steps to Re-create issue:
Form a caravan with at least one colonist and at least one mountable animal (Can hold a mount, and is properly trained) A fully trained elephant for example
When forming the caravan, set the colonist to mount up, the caravan speed will not change. I noticed this when i first installed SOS2 so I have not had the issues with losing animals, due to me not sending out a caravan when I noticed it.

personally I have a makeshift workaround for the time being, which requires a bit of micro managing. with both mods (sos2 and Giddy) I go to world map and create caravan... here you pick your colonists, then your mounts (BUT don't mount just yet), go in items tab and pick all you need for the trek. Now go back to pawns tab and NOW assign riders after which you can set the road and accept. (this does seem to circumvent the reduced carry weight of mounts) now last but most importantly, manually add each mount to the caravan... or they will be left behind and I think your map travel speed will be adjusted to "on foot".

I know it seems tedious but that's how I make it work...

Just has this issue. Lost two bonded animals. So irritating because You can't even save the animals in devmode... I have both SOS2 and GiddyUP up to date. Any workaround to not have this again?

I have the same problem without sos2. Caravan has the same speed regardless the pawn is mounted or not, and loses mounted animal after the first encounter. The possible suspects could be: Kill for me, Empire mod, Rimwar, or the notorius Zombieland.
