READ FIRST: Status update 1.6 and future
Edit: From some or the comments here it seems Mehni is doing some updates? I was under the impression that the other modder had taken over and some of the comments were not very nice while informative ones were swamped by the outpouring of support for the deceased.
The author of this mod has passed away. A couple of community members have taken the charge to continue with his work, one is updating the mod as originally intended and the other is a Forked where the modder is planning to make some changes:

As the original has now been updated to 1.6 by Menhi, the obsolete (formerly continued) Meme Goddess version and Forked Teemo version may be both deleted soon enough; tho as said in the forked version's description, the forked version may stay up if it can improve the mod over the original. I suppose it's all an ongoing thing.

still doesn't seem to work despite updating to 1.6 so people get to pick through a dozen homebrew forks to find one that functions

Mehni is the author of this mod. It's uploaded on his account, both on steam and on github. The description is written from his perspective. Github's contributors view displays him clearly having written more for this mod than anyone else.
Uuugggg did write many popular mods, but this is not one of them, he only contributed a couple pull requests back in 2018.

it doesn't seem to reflect 1.6 in-game oddly.
So does this mod actually work? I keep seeing mixed messages regarding its functionality as of now in 1.6/Odyssey

This mod works as it always had done. The problem is not this mod, is the other mods that you might have. Since the game was... rewritten for almost scratch for multi threading (is this true?) many mods may have conflicts with this, or other, but please don't blame this one specifically.
I love it so much.
I was having issues with complex jobs and this mod. I got it to work by putting the defs folder from the 1.5 version into the mod folder and it worked again.
