Proper Uninstallation
After having downloaded a mod pack containing this mod, I wanted to take it off the list but the game continues to require it in order to play. Is there a way to uninstall it? I've tried the Unbinder and character editors, but I can't get rid of the requirement. What needs to be done, if anything can be done at all?

Mod Unbinder

You didn't read very well, did you? Unbinder does nothing, as the only mod left after using it is More Pet Skins. Without it, the game will not allow me to play my characters.

Agreed I wish there was a proper way to Uninstall. I Also tried Mod Unbinder, but I can't even try it. If I turn off this mod Torchlight 2 crashes immediately upon startup. I don't even make it to the main screen. the moment I click "launch with mods" it crashes. I thought that maybe it's because Torchlight doesn't know what to replace the pets with if this is removed. So i tried using the Torchlight Rapid Respec tool, which among other things let's you change your pet to another type. but then that's also not possible, since the rapid respec tool doesn't recognize this mods pets. it just thinks the pet is currently transformed. The crash is definitively tied into this mod. If i turn off all of my other mods the game launches fine. this is the only mod that when turned off causes torchlight 2 to crash. If anyone out there is experiencing anything similar to this or similar to what Octagonal Butterfly is, and has a solution or ideas then please don't hesitate.

I'm thinking i may just have to transfer all my loot on my 2 characters to the shared stash, back upt he save files, and then do a full reinstall of the game.

Ok so after some research I can confirm that the crashes are specifically when the game tries to display or load a character with a pet that has 1 of the skins from the mod. i had a second character who used the regullar alpaca skin and although the mod was bount to that character as well. it caused no crashes when disabling the mod (the character was unplayable without the mod however.) when attempting to select a character in the main screen (that did use 1 of the mod skins) the game would instantly crash if the mod was not active.

Sadly you will have to remake your characters. what I did was:

1) logged in to all of my toons that currently where bound to the mod. from each toon i transferred all of my loot to the shared stash.

2) I exited the game and then backed up the shared stash files.

3) went back into the game with the mod turned on and deleted the characters.

4) exited game, unsubscribed the mod from the workshop, then manually deleted the mod's folder from the mod database of the game in the pc.

5) Launched game without mod, made new character. ran to town and grabbed my old loot.

So this was my succesful way to remove this mod. you could always use a mod that speeds up leveling so you can catch up faster to what your old levels where.

Hope this helps.
