Team Fortress 2

The War-Paintability Pack
How to do this
I know you won't do the gunslinger, so I wanted to try my hand at it, but I'm not finding any guides on how to do it. All I know is that it requires a _groups file and a _wearblend file. The groups vtf uses a 16-increment colormap to assign different textures to different parts of the weapon. I understand this. What I don't understand is why these 16 digits, when applied to the same war paint, don't match up with one another (eg both the Air strike and Rescue Ranger use all 16 values, however the war paint textures aren't applied to the same-valued groups (both use the value of 32 for the trigger, but the air-strike uses the primary texture for the trigger, while the RR uses the accent texture.)

I'm also uncertain as to why there are 16 different values for the color map when war paints only have 2-3 texture groups (Primary, Secondary, and Accent). Does it have something to do with sticker placement?

Lastly, and this is a question specific to making the Gunslinger warpaintable, is there a way to make it so the part of the model that's engineer's bare arm uses the default weapon texture? Can I just leave that part as 0?
