Shadowrun Returns

SNES Reboot Alpha Version - OLD VERSION
Going back to the city?
Hi, I just discovered that I should have bought a stake, but I can't find a way to take back the train and return to the previous scenario. What should I do?

Im not sure on the original SNES version you could take the train back and forth all day, i honestly think the original SNES version is by far better than this reboot. You might have to restart the game to get around that problem. Same with the original SNES game there were things you HAD to do in order otherwise you get screwed just like that. I honestly never finished either game SNES or reboot due to these traps in the game that force you to delete your save and start all over again than a few years later i pick it up again just to be reminded why i quit it in the first place. If a game cant be beat with out a walkthrough than there is no point you might as well just read the walkthrough and call it beat without playing it since your forced to read "spoilers" and spoilers ruin a game just as much as a movie. Dont get me wrong this is a great game but the fact you have to look things up online just to play it through ruins the fun. My favorite version is the Sega Genesis version loved that game when it came out and i still love that game. Atleast you can beat the Genesis version in 1 long playthrough without starting all over because of 1 stupid detail (like killing the doctor before he takes the bomb out of your head=game over and makes your entire saved game useless) it is just as hard to figure out but atleast they dont screw you over for countless hours of effort like these versions do over 1 missclick in the doctors office and it is also a long complicated game just like these versions not to mention it is alot easier to control, the combat is more action based instead of turn based combat which is funner in my opinion. It took me years to beat the Genesis version on my own figuring it out 1 bit at a time and it felt like a huge accomplishment when i finally beat it. If i had bought the game back in the Genesis days instead of renting it i might of beat it alot sooner but time was limited.

@daniel - Sorry for the delay in responding. For some reason I was never informed (until today) of your post.
You can ride the monorail all day if you want.
When down town, its the large building next to the market. My directions could be off, but if you are at the Dark Blade Mansion, you want to head South West / left.

If for some reason you are stuck and unable to load a scene or something, such as a bug caused by using different versions, I can also put temporary fixes in to help. I've done that before (though haven't had to for a while)

@Ben - My general impression (and the approach I most often used) is that you can't advance past the "Traps" you mentioned. If something would stop you from advancing, such as not getting the Rust Stilleto's key, or missing another plot item, I typically don't let you leave the scene until you grab it... It is possible to miss something and have to backtrack by going "out of order", but you can always hop on the monorail to do so.

That being said, you mentioned liking the original SNES better then this reboot. Would you like to elaborate on that? (For instance, the "action combat" action makes dealing with the snipers much better in the original... No denying that! I also like the minesweeper matrix better.). What improvements do you think it needs?

There's definitely the ability to backtrack in most cases. So if something is missing, please let me know so I can fix that!

Also, I am (slowly) adding in conversations and hints so you can try and avoid guides. In the future I hope to actually add the option to enable plot markers so further help those who want it.

I hope I'm not too slow in responding to this! I would like to get your impressions
(and the SNES vs SEGA version discussion is an entirely different conversation) :)

OOOPS!
I just realized you were on the OLD version. This module has been transferred to the Dragonfall workshop.

Yes, things are broken in this version. Its a legacy version. I have tried to clarify the description so that that is more clear.

The correct version is here - http://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=317632217
It requires Dragonfall DC

I loved the game. Thank you so much for taking the time to build it!
