In the future, could you please add the ability to hang the backpack underneath the player using a rope?
Consider that in the real world, if you jump from a high altitude over enemy territory you will be spotted and shot since you have no control over when you pop your chute . To avoid this, you need control over the opening of the parachute at a lower, stealthier altitude.
The only option in this current iteration is for the aircraft to come in low on the DZ, which is clearly not a good idea either.
I would suggest providing the option for the squad leader to command the AI and himself not to open the chute until a command is given by him while in free-fall. This way he can fall until closer to the tree tops, thus avoiding him disclosing the team's Insertion point to the enemy.
In addition, if you were to implement this as a module which could be synced to a specific cargo vic as the troop deployment transport, say an Osprey or C-130, as well as the option to choose parachute with combat load-out on chest, functional on a dedicated server, you'd have yourself a killer mod!
This mod is for static line jumping, but you can easily only use the standing up feature, and just get out for HALO.
All aircraft with ViV space should currently be compatible.
Backpack-on-chest should be compatible.
The reason I ask is that I'm interested in this mod for my unit, but the major issue we have is getting everyone out of the bird in a timely manner without collisions, and it's more difficult to get everyone to go out by the numbers. Would it be possible to have a red light/green light system to make them jump?
