I have a few
  1. Automated Airlock: All the airlocks should have the inside door lock if water is in the airlock. That way, the main cabin should never get flooded
  2. Dock: At the back, there should be a dock that can be used to let out a boat at water level, when surfaced
  3. Moonpool: There should be another dock, underwater, with a sub in it (Wether you have to spawn it seperatly or not, up to you), that sub get's pulled up, and a gang-plank allows you in, when you open the bay door and lower it though, you can release this smaller, faster sub
There could be multiple varients, put into a collection with this
    • A fast submarine
    • One that is good at somewhat more rescues
    • Transport
    • Taking Boats
    • laying camera drones that are controlled from the main sub giving you more eyes and ears! (If you make a command sub of some sort, it could be connected to that one)
  4. Underwater Docking Port (: Someonere (Not sure where), you should have a door that is for docking to future submarines
  5. Escape Pods: Water tight pods that will launch into the water, and pop to the surface. Batterys that last about 3 days activate a distress beacon a specific freqrency, and an IR strob light makes finding it easier. There is a weak propeller, for if you are just a few hundred meters from an island
  6. A massive door for sending the planes out the back, the idea being you could dock 2 of these together, and under water transfer planes. Or, you could even make a submarine that just stores planes, multiple floors, hangers, you put them in, and just put them in posistion. This docks to the top, and you get any plane you want. Of course, that sub is super slow, hence it just uses a mag-all and sticks to the ground. It might even have a docking area as well for boats (It's enclosed, and that enclosed pod with the boat can be transfered to replace the boat that is currently in it) and subs!

one here. i could improve by adding a quick drain system for the ballast tanks. however this make usage of an exploit in the phys engine

also could you put the whole engine room underwater in case they're going to blow .... AGAIN

Hi guys!

The first thing will be addressing the airlock issue. They are currently already automated but they cannot work deep underwater.

Once I figure out that system I plan to add a large airlock that can take in a mini sub. The airlock will be at the back where the smallest landing pad is located!

@G_Tugg could you implement my quick drain system ? these ballasttanks need forever to empty. my system is also quite small. only 5 to 7 blocks in all directions

Yes I would be interested as long as there are no exploits, I like to keep things within the designs of the game. Did you say the engines are blowing up I can't seem to replicate that? Please note the sub is designed and built for non-experimental version of the game!

Well it is an exploit using the magnetic hatches. if you're still interrested you can contact me and i'll give you the information to it.

Cool! Just, what about the escape pods and surface-boat?

definitely escape pod of some type!

Great!

I think a great feature to add would be an intake/exhaust buoy. The reason for this is that it would let the submarine go much deeper with the diesel engines. The buoy would get tugged along by the sub, but float on the surface to get air and remove exhaust.

yeah! And it still would be limited to, say, 50 feet, but that's 50 more feet! It could also have auto-balsts, so it is always mostly under water! (Leaving just the intake and output, the main connection and such is bellow water). It also could have (Retractable) Solar panels!

Each engine has the luxury of a dedicated pipe for exhaust and air supply, so it will require 12 hose connections total to retain peak performance underwater. Maybe a reduced performance design would be feasible.

Yeah! maybe those dedicated lines have a valve that can merge them into one line, while shutting off the dedicated part. This means the buy can get air to all of them, just at reduced efficency! So, have them all run at, say, 1/4 power? Or, have only 1/4 run? Or...

Just noticed, you missed quite te oppurtunity. If the towwer was more to the side, you could keep the smooth front and have a (Small) runway!

Oh believe me I've tried, (the MK3 is a failed offset design).
Balancing an offset tower is extremely difficult, as you must balance weight when surfaced, then buoyancy when submerged. I could never get it level in both states..
