How to get Sketchy Cheat Menu working with overhaul and total conversion mods
This mod does not work with certain total conversion mods. Here is what I do to get SCM to work with these mods

1. First off, go to C:\Users\ryanm\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod to find where workshop mods are stored.

2. I will use Elder Kingds as an example. Find the sketchycheatmenu.rar and the ek21.rar (I don't have Elder Kings downloaded from the workshop but look for its rar file. It should be similar to 'ek21') Open both rar files.

3. Drag and drop the files in the sketchycheatmenu.rar into the ek21.rar but not the descriptor.mod and sketchycheatmenu.jpg. This will cause it to be "apart" of the EK mod.

4. VERY IMPORTANT. Do not activate Sketchy Cheat Menu with the a mod of you chosing when loading up the game. It will still work if it is activated but it is not required. The files of SCM is in the .rar folder of you chosing.

How it works... The Elder Kings mod and other TK mods replace the base games files with their own folders witch cause certain mods to not work with them. By doing this method of draging the SCM files into a total conversion mod folder will cause it to work with that mod.

SCM does not edit in base game files, therefore, it will not (take this with a grain of salt) cause any problems in these mods. I havent found any problems by doing this. However, use with caution.

I am not a modder or an expert, I just wanted a way to get SCM to work with many great mods!

This doens't fully resolve all issues, for example it doesn't fix the Holding Upgrade Cheat, nor does it fix the Trait Cheat, and it might cause CK2 to hard crash straight to desktop if you use a command somewhere you shouldn't.

The best option is someone to actually work on a sub mod version of Sketchy's Cheat Menu for the specific overhaul. Other then that this is as best as we can get.

I know that. I should have stated that certain options of the SCM wouldn't work but the spawn army does witch is what I use it mostly for. Sorry for not stating that before. My bad. Just wanted to help.

I am working on integrating the building cheats into Elder Kings but I won't promisse anything since i'm on a bit of a time constrait and don't always have free time to willingly spare to work on a mod.

So far so good, the prototype cheat is working fine after a bit of trial and error. I'll post the first version of the mod soon so everyone can give it a spin.

But a few notes first. The mod will only upgrade basic buildings, so culture/religion/race/government specific buildings are not gonna figure into it.

So would it work if i manually copy and paste each .txt file into the EK folders, it should work for the most part?

Anyone know how to edit in shortcuts for this mod? Like, a shortcut for the settlement decision buttons.

Does this work the same for ck2 plus?

This post was made from me 5 years ago when I first started playing CK2 and haven't played it since CK3 came out. I am not a modder so this shouldn't be taken as an actual workaround.

HOWEVER! I do think Sketchy's Cheat Menu will work this way with with CK2 Plus because that mod is a total conversion. Go and give it a try. There may be certain options within sketchy's mod that may not work but I think the majority of it will. If you are familiar with CK2's coding (In general, other Paradox's games), you could edit some of the cheat menu files to work better with CK2 Plus or other total conversion mods. Example: For EK2 (Elder Kings), I replaced certain troop/unit type from Sketchy's mod menu army spawner with one unit from EK2's special troop/unit type because one of the units from Sketchy's mod was not used in EK2. Also, I edited the character spawner options from SCM and added certain EK2 traits to each of them so that vanilla traits weren't only used.

Please, PLEASE, do not take this as a complete fix or workaround. I made this post back then because players kept asking if this cheat menu would work with other total conversion mods, and I wanted to give my opinion on how I got it working. Keep in mind, some cheat menu options will not work, look at some of the other comments on this post as a reference.
