Loose Formation?
I know it's dumb and basic, but Warhammer has been missing the vital loose formation to prevent losing units by the cartloads to a single volley. I'd assume MOST of the races in the Warhammer world aren't as dumb as Napoleonic era soldiers, standing in lines and columns waiting to be shot down. Even if it's not necessarily in the tabletop, this stuff isn't either.

So I'm just asking if it's possible that there be a formation like this included like back in the olden days of Medieval 2. It'd make for more tactical urgency because if you get caught in loose by cavalry or infantry, suddenly you're all spread out to be killed individually.

Just thought I'd pry and ask. Wonderful looking mod, can't wait to try it out, though I'm afraid to need to restart a campaign. Lol

You don't need to restart a campaign at all to get to use this mod and I don't know where you get that idea from.


Adding a loose formation was one of the first ones I had in mind, but currently I'm very limited by what I can do with the actual formations as they are all legacy stuff from previous games, so while I would love to add a loose formation, it's either not possible with my current methods or I just don't quite know how yet, but I'm looking into expanding and improving them all the time.

haha this thread gave me a lightbulb and i realized I couldn't make your mod work cuz I had a "loose space" mod on amongst my 100 other mods. when i turned that off i could make this work. if the file helps in some way this is the one http://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=745197488

I don't know if you know this but Wakes Realism Overhaul (WIP) Ver. 1.5.8(I would add a link but I'm on mobile and copy and pasting is a ♥♥♥♥♥ and a half) has a way to set units to loose formation and last time I used the mod it worked. And what I thought was cool was it wasn't an ability or actually took the place on the unit commands card of the formations tab so you could turn it on and off like guard mode.

Yeah, that mod can ♥♥♥♥ a bit with this one, but still works in concept, the formations just don't look quite as organized anymore and probably not all will work so well. Although it depends rather much on the individual unit, since some are more affected by that mod and some not at all.

Well I can see that he did modify about everything that the game has to offer, including default unit spacings, but due to its size it's hard to find exactly where he implemented such a thing and as the mod is outdated, I can't easily start it up to test it.

Can you be a bit more exact about where it appeared, how it was called and who could use it?
