Literally how are you supposed to beat this??? Take note devs people don't like unfair and unbalanced challaneges in their games

I encountered a snail. I wait for a turn... or something. No, it just hits me a few times. Then I realize I won't get a turn. So I hit escape and helpfully there is a tutorial button! It kindly explains that if you want to throw a rock you drag the rock. Great! That's how I got into combat with the snail; I had no idea this game was semi-realtime (only when it's inconvenient). So now there's a snail murdering me and no clue what to do. The only answer of course is Google. So I did that, and wow,...

i know we have monkey tavern and this, but what else is there?

I've tried the suggested fixes using the directory folders but it still won't start. I was working a few months ago. any suggestions?

The keybindings tell you nothing. I have my weapons equipped, I figured out how to throw objects but I can't get my characters to attack.
