I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. The only reason I recommend this game is purely for the story and AM's voice acting done so perfectly in the game. It also has multiple endings along with story elements never seen in the original. If you find games more immersive than novels/short stories or you wanna see more after reading the original, then this would be the way to experience that. The only thing that needs to be mentioned is this game is EXTREMELY dated in so many ways. Many things softlock you throughout the game and pretty much have you restart an entire section or worse, have you reload a save from the start of one of the five characters' story, which would be even worse if you don't save often. Speaking of, SAVE OFTEN, I missed something as one character and almost had to reload a save from hours ago. My own fault, but I went into this knowing as little as possible to enjoy the story to its fullest. Another thing is that unless you're the smartest being to inhabit Earth, you'll more than likely need a guide. Even worse for me cause puzzles often have me confused even in more recent and accessible games. I needed a guide quite often from not wanting to repeat long sections, not finding items that blend in with pixelated backgrounds, parts of the game that leave little room for mistakes, and complicated solutions that I really don't find many people figuring out fully on their own (but major respect to those that did). It might sound like I'm exaggerating but if you're bad with puzzles like I am, you'll find yourself relying on a guide often. Even with ALL of that, the story and acting are genuinely great, as I said. For that and even the artstyle, I'd say it's worth it. I tried to figure out as much as I could on my own, but some parts were truly a struggle. The gameplay experience was a pain and holds this back, but the narrative, it's themes, and the author himself being AM were amazing. 7/10.

Great ambient, great and uncanny, incoherent art style, great feeling of danger and "hostile" surroundings, great uncomfortable sensation and ill feeling of anything shown at the screen. The characters look sick and tired, the architecture and infrastructure of the different backgrounds are one of the most nasty and are anything but human (which makes sense)...
Overall, this is an experience only for the very open-minded and hungry for "cursed and ugly unique experience" fellas

BUT, and it is a huge BUT, the game is sinfully broken, it's not even funny, to the point where it's impossible to make progress, literally. This is the Cyberpunk 2077 of 2D games, probably, and Nightdive Studios slept on it, which is a true disappointment coming from this people who have a great reputation and are very known to improve older and forgotten games, not leave them like this.
