Update: Day 3 playing this game and I ranked up to diamond group (f2p, with swordcraft deck).

DON'T be fool by the negative review!! It's totally NOT what those reviews said that the game is pay to win. Compare to Hearthstone, it's pretty easy to craft your first decent deck to play. I played only two days and I made a deck that helps me to win over master ranking opponent in public park (I'm a f2p player). People leave negative review because they lost and think this is an complete RNG or pay to win, but it's totally NOT true. Of course you can't win every game, but win rate will tell and you will eventually get to higher rank if you got skill. FYI, my highest ranking in Hearthstone was rank 1, not even a legend.

It's a good game after all. Even tho I got only one deck to play yet right now, there are a lot of different decks that shine in public park.

Just as I feared every expansion is a nightmare for F2P...

I'm a card game veteran, I've played just about every major ccg in paper or online. This game is great, its incredibly fun and intricate, easy to learn and hard to master like all the best in genre. I'm writing this just at the end of the first expansion, where they have been incredibly generous with the amount of packs and gold you get, its very easy to build your first deck free to play. For only 20$, there is some good value in the shop which can give you that little boost to make your second deck and support the studio making an otherwise free to play title. Monetization is the major gripe of the player base but it is much, much, MUCH more accessible than their peers like MTGA, Hearthstone, or literally anything in paper. Again, the game is FUN, which should always be the first priority, and the monetization is there without being required or predatory, like any business should do.

Some people also have an issue with the pace of expansions, which are two months apart. This means the battle passes expire quickly and the influx of new cards may outpace players ability to grind for them. This is a valid concern, but at the time of this review they are offering a free deck when the new expansion drops which alleviates the issue a lot.

I cannot in good conscience accept all the negative reviews this game is receiving. They are walking a tightrope of trying to stay in business from a free-to-play game admirably well, and their game is fun and competitive. I hope you'll give it a chance and help it stay around a long time.
