Game's fun, but PLEASE don't play if you're under 18, unless you plan to only play in private instances alone or with people you've already met elsewhere on safer platforms.

VRChat is unfortunately riddled with pedophiles, and other bad actors. You're seriously putting yourself at risk if you play while being a minor. However, a wide majority of the player base IS minors, so you won't feel too out of place in that aspect. Some of them are VERY young, though. Parents seem to buy their kids VR Headsets willy-nilly nowadays, expecting it to be a fine purchase for their child. That could not be FURTHER from the truth.

If you ARE 18, the only things you'll have to worry about are: weirdos, crashers, cheaters (in game worlds), and, most importantly; nazis. For some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason, VRC is FILLED with those parasites.

If you are 18 or older and can tolerate all the above, there ARE some nice and chill people you'll meet in your journeys. That alone honestly makes up for the negatives in MY opinion, but you can have your own obviously.

So, if you decide to give the game a shot; just be safe, 'kay?

It offers massive creative freedom, social immersion, and identity expression. At its best, it’s collaborative, impressive, and even emotionally meaningful.

But at its core, VRChat is a mirror of the internet’s soul—unfiltered, unmoderated, and often dark. Beneath the surface of anime avatars and neon hangout rooms lies a world full of roleplay addiction, fetishism, escapism, and identity distortion. Many users aren’t just playing—they’re living here. And some of what’s being lived out should not be entertained.

Visually, it’s as beautiful or broken as the community builds it. Some worlds are serene, artistic, and spiritually moving. Others are hypersexualized, occult-themed, or chaotic. Avatars range from adorable mascots to full-blown erotic displays. VRChat is shaped entirely by its players—and that’s the danger.

Morally, it is unmoored. There’s no accountability, no story, no framework for good or evil—only what feels good, funny, or affirming. The platform feeds into the hunger for self-made identity while stripping away the need for reality, consequence, or truth. People come here to become anything—but too often, that means becoming something hollow.

It’s a place where false intimacy, self-idolatry, and addiction to novelty thrive. Spiritually, it’s a wide open door—offering presence without connection, expression without grounding, and community without covenant.

Yes, there’s beauty here. But beauty divorced from truth is just bait. Unless you walk into VRChat with armor on, it will reshape you before you realize it.
