Description
Merc-14 (SV Class 4, Unlock Level 20)

Primary roles: Heavy Fighter, Survival, Warp, Storage

The Merc-MX14 is the 3rd generation in mid cockpit design following the Merc-MXR-Prototype and Merc-AME. This is a larger tougher ship with heavy front armor, 1st and 3rd person secure cockpit, more weapons, storage, drone hatch, warp, and much more. The front of the ship is very tough able to take a beating while keeping the pilot safe in either cockpit. The advantage to a mid cockpit design is it is simply harder to hit the 1st person cockpit making it safer to operate using 1st person cockpits. It is however far from 7500 CPU compliant.

Survival features

Inside it has 20K main storage, 4K ammo storage, + 9 large cargo boxes. It also has short range warp drive, o2 + station, armor rack, secure internal cockpit, drone hatch, detector, WiFi, passenger seat, spot lights, and room to add more items in the long but spacious interior.

Offense and Defense

The ship comes with 6 gatling guns, 4 homing rocket launchers, 4 Rail guns, and 4 plasma guns. The hull is built with hardened steel and is extra tough on the front/front bottom area with 3+ layers of protection including lag shot block. It is designed to do frontal assaults on POI's or combat with other engagements. It features a lot of part separation making it very hard to disable even if it took excessive damage. The hull is built with hardened steel.

Features Summary:

1. Player unlock level 20
2. Hardened steel hull, 6 gatling guns, 4 homing rocket launchers, 4 plasma guns, 4 rail guns.
3. Warp drive, o2 + station, 20K volume storage, 4K volume ammo, and 9 additional cargo boxes
4. 3 Constructors, 2 fridges, armor locker, WiFI, short range detector
5. Internal cockpit access, internal secure cockpit, drone hatch, passenger seat
6. Good speed and maneuverability for it's size.
7. Sensor based lights, door, and ramp
8. Exterior spot lights + interior controls switches
9. Spacious but long interior with extra room to add more items.

I hope you enjoy!

Thank you winter_Ice and Abusive! @Wnter_Ice, very sorry about my slow response. I will have to look for the new version you did. Again, my apologies. I made this ship before the game rules changed which made this pretty unusable with newer versions of the game. If you are still around and haven't yet published it, feel free to do so and I can also add it as a modded version on this post. Thanks again all!

yes please publish it!

So I am huge fan of your builds jrandall. I took the time to look this over and reworked it in my game. Got rid of 177 RCS, Ripped out the engines and reworked the surface a bit. Its still very much your build but now its within CPU T4 and still very fast. Added a couple of turrets. I would like your permission to publish it. I named my edit the WI-Merc-MD14 (WinterIce Merc Mod 14).

Thank you Amicus. I do not have an update planned for it as I believe it is to big to work decently with CPU. I had the same issue with the MX12H thru MX18 which are all larger ships. You just don't have enough CPU availble to added enough thrusters to move the weight of the ship do to it's size. Well, move it well enough at least. I tried some already but it was not working out well so I did not update the blueprint. Thanks again!

Thank you DeltaStar and TBAR, I am kind of weighting a bit to see the numbers and how RCS work in alpha 12. I present form with current CPU, the MX12 and MX14 require far to many cuts to but T4 100% Compliant. It really messes up the ships. I do plan on revisiting this with alpha 12 thou. @TBAR, I did update the MX5. But yeah, most all are out of date now. Thanks again all!

Jrandall, I am a fan of your MX collection, we should talk. I've incorporate actual cockpits to your design. It holds up better than the standard cockpit install. Not a bad look either, but again your work is awesome.
