Description

Updated with Welcome Protocol™ energy saver. With Welcome Protocol your base will go into a severe power saver mode when no one is present! But upon docking your Base will welcome you with Gravity and Lights. It will shut itself off once you leave.
---Welcome Protocol™ 2.0 has a farming override. While delivered without farming plots to save on that cost, the expansion is still available. If your grow lights are on WP will maintain basic power and life support to keep your plants and fridges active.

Space Station. (Class 6 BA)

Primary roles: Survival Base, Farm, Crafting, Fleet Port, Solar, Unlocks at player level 12

The Helix Orbital is a deluxe player space base with a ton of room and features. It was designed around the idea of a post modern space station in appearance trying to make it seem semi plausible. It has 5 decks with 1 central elevator for quick navigation thru out the station with a central connecting hub. It comes complete with all quality of life features up to player level 12.

Primary Features:

Space Dock
It has 2 hangar/landing pad modules, A and B. Module B features a deluxe hangar side crafting area as well as a repair bay and switch to shut down the crafting area to save on power (Except for the 2 fridges) It features a T1 repair bay due to size class restrictions however upgrading to a T2 is quick and easy. The hangar area uses force fields rather than standard hangar doors. I thought I would try some different and it makes for some great views into space.

Solar
It runs the maximum amount of large solar panels allowed with standard game rules. When placing this station, be sure to align the solar array directly at a star for maximum solar power input. (Important to save on fuel)

Farm
It features 108 grow plot farm Sections divided in 4 sections each with it's own grow light switch. Leave off when not in use to save power. This area has extra room in places to add more fridges/food processors. It also leads to landing pads A and B.

Offensive/Defense
The station is built with hardened steel and has 11 marked turret mount positions as well as two interior hangar sentry guns. The turrets are not included to save on costs. When fully equipped it will provide decent 360 protection.

Crew Quarters
Decks 1 and 2 are a place for the crew or visitors. It featues a small lounge, beds, bathrooms, atm.

Engineering area
The bottom of the station features a vertical engineering area housing such things as offline protection and generators. A lot of space along the walls can be used to add much more fuel/o2, etc.

Central Hub/Med Bay
The center of the station is an open area connecting all modules. By default it only has a med bay installed and a ceiling mount area to store lots of fuel and o2. This area is tall enough to add some forges or anything else you can think of.

Features Summary:

1. Class 6 BA, Player unlock level 12
2. Space for 108 grow plot farm
3. Hardened Steel constuction with 11 turret mount points(Turrets not included)
4. Airtight O2 and oxygen
5. Two large hangars, one with crafting and repair bay
6. Deluxe crafting area with 4 advanced constructors+all other survival features
7. Med bay, Repair Bay, Crew quarters
8. 15 Large solar panels (Max)
9. Sensor based lighting thru out
10. Extra room in interior.

Notes:

This base must be placed in space and will collapse on ground. When placing in space be sure to align solar array to directly point at the sun for best solar potential."

Thank for trying to update this, but I think you left something out. There are still cargo boxes and no cargo extenders. It will hard for most people to use this without extenders.

@Jrandall

You create, you are VERY good at it. I have a BUNCH of subscribed items that I didnt realize just how many of them were yours until recently.

I dont have an issue updating. Though sometimes I make design choices that dont fit in the aesthetic as much when major changes have to happen. One of the Kriel updates I will have later is a testament to that.

I do not get cargo extenders functionality TBH. My server doesnt have volumes turned on so I might break more then I fix atm. Also I lack some of the creative patience in making things look nice once the function is complete. I do better at adding functionality and tweaking. I can have a vision, but making it work currently has my frustrated. Maybe I will come around and it will click. will find a time to practice and see if I can do it.

I do know that cargo extensions and such do seem to consume more CPU (and power?) so that may be another issue to overcome.

Very cool! I will get this added as a modded version on the Helix post. Also, thanks for doing so much work getting these creations usable again after the patches. In some ways I wanted to get more of this done myself, but with so many creations out there, it is a huge task and I totally prefer building new things (generally) over fixing or converting older stuff over that were not made for it and often require downgrading. Thanks again! :)

Nice refit, i think it kinda need more work to get it complete. All the 250 cargo boxes need to go for like cargo extenders. Get a couple 320k storage on it and it will be better to use. Thanks
