Description
As featured on the cover of the June 2020 Model Railroader Magazine, here we have a Rolling Line adaptation of Lee Marsh's stunning Great Northern Cascade division layout. Set between the years of 1947-1951, this HO scale layout features dual levels, a large yard at the city of Everett, the large curved steel trestle at Alpine Creek, and loosely models the locations of Berne, Merritt, and Winton. Lee's layout is a masterpiece and draws inspiration from Jack Parker's Northern Pacific HO layout with the large yard in the fore and meandering mountain-pass mainline higher above in the distance.

A special Thank You to Coconut Pie for the quick terrain incorporating the trackplan which made it a breeze to faithfully reproduce here. I omitted the entire staging area and made the mainline into two loop loops which can be operated in opposite directions simultaneously, just for the purpose of running more trains.

This is my second layout in RL and I made everything in 4 days although it was a real power-sesh to slam this one out so fast.

For liveries, download all the following:
All liveries by WelcomeThrillHO (special shout-out to these pitch-perfect reproductions)

And an assortment off the workshop which I compiled (WIP, list being expanded)

Zero quickmods were used in this save, only liveries.

UPDATE 7/11/20 - I have uploaded a new version of this layout with extra details courtesy of TerrainMeister (special Thank You!) and myself. The roundhouse has been refined and the upper/lower levels are now joined, behind the scenery. There is also a small staging area. At some point in the future I plan a drastic expansion of the backside. This layout is still WIP

UPDATE 2: (5/15/21) layout updated with: custom prop mod roundhouse, working turntable, custom prop mod trestle, functional crossing guards, switchboards, power lines, and mountain peak background. Also added cabooses.

UPDATE 3: (6/12/21) updated to fix missing prop mods, hopefully works

I just watched your video today on making this model railroad layout. You explained everything very well. There are a lot of really good model railroad layouts in Model Railroader Magazine to copy from.

I hope that you keep making more model railroad layouts like this in the future for Rolling Line. Well done my friend.
