Description
Actually LARGE decals meant for quick terrain details, ripped straight from Google Map ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

✅ Requirement:
VISIBILITY CONTROL - long render distance setting for decal.
(Ultimate Level of Detail was obsolete)



Decal control:
- select with MoveIt, you can then hold PageUp or PageDown to affect at what ground level it render the decal, doing so on flat ground will simply change the overall transparency of the decal.
- it is possible ro resize decal with MoveIt's hotkey < and > as well as adjust it's color, but upon converting into Procedural Object they will shrink back to original size, it is not possible to rezise the decal texture with PO, only the "bounding box"

Contents:
Most decals are 200 meter x 200 meter in size, except shoreline decals are 400 meter x 400 meter, and mountain decals are 600 meter x 600 meter

- several shoreline / sea decals
- some dirt / landfill worksite decals
- several concrete decals for industrial area purpose
- a few dark green decals meant for use as forest floor - so you don't need to use ugly cliff texture in Theme Mixer 2 - blends pretty well with most tree assets, so don't need to paint the forest super dense, save some performance and tree limit.
- several random grass empty area decals
- several snowy mountain top decals
- two smaller 120 meter x 60 meter dirt decals meant to use as school sports ground

Texture size mostly 1024x1024, except mountain are 2048x2048 while the smaller few are 512x512

Where to find these?
Use Find It 2 obviously, under the decal section.
Or search with the term "LLD".


❗ Limitations:
- obviously this isn't make for close up
- stacking decals will causes z-fighting
- decal render over road, networks, surfaces... don't use this on place you build things.

❓ How can you make you own?
- use this site to steal texture from Google Map, change to Satellite map and there will be no overlay markings : http://www.chengfolio.com/google_map_customizer just beware about those Google watermark needed to be removed
- refer CSL Modding for decal creation process, all you need is a little bit of image editing skill : https://cslmodding.info/shader/decal/

I do have stuff like Topaz AI Gigapixel, but you gotta also take into the consideration of memory consumption. RAM consumption is not 1:1 to file size, it's roughly triple the size of file size... 🤣😆😂 If doing it for only a specific few pieces then the memory impact will be much more acceptable.

@slavonator and @NameInvalid, it's possible for you guys to upscale those textures to a very high res using bigJPG algorithm/neural network. It works quite well for natural patterns and can output 4K/8K images easily while recreating missing details and getting rid of aliasing to some degree.

@slavonator should be possible, assuming if it's possible to can get more out of GoogleMap, if the source is just bad low resolution when zoomed in then there's nothing I can do about it. Can also contact me via discord NameInvalid#3419

@xonedl I read a message where you write to make things to order. so I would be interested, but cant send u message because we are not friends status. so confirm me please. for example, or i can write here. the volcano, which is right in the first picture, but in a better resolution and divided into 9 or more pieces so that a close-up view can be possible. is it possible to do something like this?

How many times do I need to say this isn't made for close up. You can't see crap with this 1024x1024 texture resolution quality anyway. Like /u/DirtyH said you can PO it if you want. If you want custom stuff to fit your needs, I already provided resources in the description to make your own. I only make things I personally wanted to use, for anyone else that want to have other things made you might want to contact me personally to arrange commission works.

you definitely need to divide these decals into smaller parts so that they do not disappear. They are active only in the center and not to the brim, so they disappear as soon as the camera leaves the center of the decal. These are big decals so it's easy to lose their middle. They are great, but unacceptable in that form
