Description
Learn to Play Left 4 Dead at Your Own Pace! (1.5)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This short, simple campaign will teach you all the basics so you're ready to play Left 4 Dead 2 with friends and strangers. Run, jump, and shoot your way through self-guided educational modules that will answer every question you have about the game. There's a shooting range, an obstacle course, and more. You can also skip past most of the material if you're in a hurry. Compatible with up to 4 players!

Disclaimer
This campaign is obviously very easy and short, so don't be surprised when you're done in 10 minutes. I originally created this tutorial for personal use, but I've decided to expand it and release it to the public as a community resource.

Also, there may be compatibility issues with other mods. Try disabling some add-ons and restarting Left 4 Dead 2 if you have problems.

2-Map Campaign
The Unofficial Tutorial is split into distinct halves: Map 1 is purely educational with no zombie spawns, and Map 2 is a standard Left 4 Dead level to test you on what you've learned.

Map 1 features 4 self-guided courses on Basic Training, Zombies & Hazards, Weapons & Items, and Advanced Training. The modules on zombies and weapons are both optional, but they contain extremely detailed information and stats* -- even veteran players might learn something new!

Map 2, meanwhile, is a conventional L4D2 level with random zombie spawns that takes you through dream-like liminal spaces. You'll ultimately come to an elevator that lets you escape the training facility, but not until you survive a small onslaught of zombies first!

* Note that some of the listed weapon stats in the Unofficial Tutorial are approximate. All stats are derived from internal code (when available) and confirmed with in-game testing. These stats are generally accurate, but they might differ from what you've seen online before.

Other Features
Map 1 contains useful facilities that even Left 4 Dead veterans might appreciate. There's a shooting range with access to every weapon in the game and moving targets, and there's a machine that can spawn any zombie type and put them in an invisible cage where they can't hurt you. You can use these to practice your combat skills without putting yourself in danger.

Oh, and Map 2 contains an easter egg that classic shooter fans will really love -- pinky promise! I implore you to find it.

Special Thanks
This tutorial campaign was a solo effort, but I'd still like to thank my wife for being my best friend and supporting my weird hobbies.

Also, thanks in advance to everyone who downloads this little project of mine. I hope it helps with introducing Left 4 Dead to some new people!

Steam Deck Info
The Unofficial Tutorial is fully playable on Steam Deck, tested by yours truly. Even at the highest graphics settings, I encountered no issues.

Oh btw, on the Nerd Chart it's categorized by colors.

Red = Shotgun
Noted: Damage (Shot) refers to Damage Per Pellet for Shotguns.
You have to check out Damage (Burst) which refers to Damage Per Shot
to get final results ^^

Blue = Automatic
Noted: For FN-SCAR it has 3 Round Burst as default (In L4D2)
so check out Damage (Burst) to get final result ^^

Green = Sniper Rifle

Purple = Secondary firearms (P220&Glock and Desert Eagle)

Orange = Turret
Noted: Machine Gun refers to [Browning M2] and Minigun refers to [M134 A2 (I think ^-^')]

Grey = Special firearms (M60 and M79)

If we have an update for Color Guide (What those colors represented) on top of the chart
that would be superb for easier understanding ^^

This here is recommended for both Starter and Veteran. For those of you Starters who have seen a Chart for Nerd XD full of Math, don't think too much about it aight.
Devs have already balanced all weapons,
so feel free to pick up whatever you feel right.
Some of them firearms may have lower Damage, slower Fire rate or slower Reload speed but guess what, you have a friends and Bots to fill up that small small weakness ^^
"Play it because it's fun" that's it.

And for Veterans, use it as Data Warehouse or whatever you preferred ^^

You should create a survival mode version I think that would be pretty neat.

@MissingTexture Not recommended on Realism, however, since Witches copy the ballistic resistance that Commons get in that mode.

You can one shot a Witch by doing a well-timed Shotgun headshot on her. It's called 'Crowning'. Please actually research stuff before complaining.
