Description
Some of the paintable weapons introduced in Jungle Inferno have textures that are a bit lacking when compared to the original stock paintable weapons introduced in Gun Mettle and Tough Break. The original stock weapons from Gun Mettle and Tough Break are the baseline of quality this project aims for.

Albedo
A large amount of new p_albedo textures are desaturated versions, or simply edited to remove baked in AO. Comparatively, the original p_albedos for stock weapons in Gun Mettle and Tough break are much more complex in their adjustments. The weapon’s p_albedo should give the appearance that the weapon has been worn down or stripped of its original paint with a much lighter, gray appearance. This is so as many patterns as possible look fitting on the gun.

Ambient Occlusion
The weapons introduced in Jungle Inferno have a simple AO from a 3D modeling program like blender. While it’s certainly better than nothing, the original weapons have much more care and detail put into them.

AOs have been modified to include details from the original textures, such as detail that is baked into the texture that otherwise appears to be a part of the model’s geometry. Things like screws having the proper holes, or shotgun pumps having ridges. They've also been modified to obey the lighting on the original weapon’s texture. This is most apparent on the underside of barrels and wooden stocks.

Some AOs also include some “noise” in the form of brush strokes from the original diffuse texture. By comparison, the newer weapons look flat when compared to the original paintable weapons. For example, the stock flamethrower, minigun, shotgun and pistol AOs created by Valve include details from the original diffuse to help make the weapon not look so plain and simple.

Wear blend
Some weapons have shoddy p_wearblend textures, causing certain areas of the weapon to always have some paint missing. Usually this just appears as a few gray pixels on some corners of the weapon. The Claidheamh Mor is especially bad. For example, the bottom of the grip has an area that is always bare, revealing an ugly yellow from the original weapon texture. The Panic Attack's muzzle hole is part of it's texture, so entire muzzle hole area never has any paint applied to it. This previous solution doesn't take into account the possibility of inner wear being used, so war paints like Park Pigmented or Manana Peeled cause the Panic Attack to have no muzzle hole whatsoever.
