[Simfphys-GD] BMP-2 PACK

The BMP-2 (Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty, Russian: Боевая Машина Пехоты, literally "combat machine/vehicle (of the) infantry") is an amphibious infantry fighting vehicle introduced in the 1980s in the Soviet Union, following on from the BMP-1 of the 1960s designed to transport personnel to the front edge, increase their mobility, armament and security on the battlefield in conditions of the use of nuclear weapons and joint actions with tanks in battle.

The BMP-2 (GBTU index — Object 675) is a Soviet and Russian tracked infantry fighting vehicle designed to transport personnel to the front edge, increase their mobility, armament and security on the battlefield in conditions of the use of nuclear weapons and joint actions with tanks in battle.
The main difference from the BMP-1 is a larger turret and equipped with a different set of weapons. The tower accommodates two people: the squad commander (on the right) and the gunner-operator. The main armament is an automatic 30 mm 2A42 cannon manufactured at the Tula Machine—Building Plant. The BMP-2 was adopted by the Soviet Army on October 15, 1980. For the first time, an infantry fighting vehicle was demonstrated to the general public in Moscow at a parade on Red Square on November 7, 1982.

The BMP-2D Developed in 1981 specifically for combat in Afghanistan. The main differences are: reinforced armor, steel screens on the hull and an armor plate under the commander and the driver-mechanic are installed. Because of this, the mass of the car increased, and it lost the ability to swim. The maximum ford to be overcome is 1.2 m. The letter "D" stands for — modified.
