Interpolator-class Cruiser Block III

Description
The Interpolator-class cruiser is designed to strike a middle ground between combat efficiency, and aesthetics.

With overwhelming firepower in mind, the Interpolator was conceived after it was found that the *Interloper*-class Cruiser didn't have enough fuel capacity. It was cut in half and a new midsection was interpolated in, hence it's name.

Armed to the teeth, the Interpolator brings to bear 36 forward facing railguns, and 20 artillery hardpoints. It also features advanced control algorithms designed to enhance the pilots' aiming, and even allow the ship to operate entirely independently of a human commander (see https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3061383149).

With 8 hydrogen tanks, double that of the Interloper, this ship has more than enough fuel capacity for most engagements; that is, if the target survives more than one well placed hit.

On the underside, there are 5 quad autocannon CIWS turrets, designed to shred missiles that get near. Also on the underside, is a large array of upwards thrust to keep this thing out of harms reach.

What it cannot dodge, however, it can outright tank. With 10 layers of heavy armour, it is designed to take an absolute beating. Moreover, the internal structure creates a hierarchy of the most heavy blocks at the front, and the most critical blocks at the rear. The CIC is positioned above the hydrrogen tanks, which may seem like a design flaw at first, until you consider that should the hydrogen tanks be vulnerable from the front, the ship is well beyond any hope of recoverability.

With 6 jump drives, it is capable of chaining several tactical flank jumps, and can make large strategic jumps, massively increasing the effective range.Faction members sold separately.

In terms of real world combat effectiveness, this ship is capable of dealing with anything in it's weight class, and a little bit beyond, barring user error. With good piloting, it can easily dispatch Reavers, Orcs, and all other modular encounters vehicles (that I know of).

I just looked and its amazing. One issue is on my server we have critical reactor and jumpdrive explosions so Ill have to do some serious retrofitting to work in our server, however this thing is AMAZING. Going to have fun with this one for sure! Thanks!

Have you seen my Extrapolator? It's the same design idea but with twice as many railguns

Can confirm. Still using it to this day. It still rips ships in half. So idc how many are stopping, plenty of them are still going on target haha

Well if there are still randomly shots going through increasing the overall dps and the ship doesn't disintegrate under my seat, then i wouldn't see a reason to change anything either. Thx!

Yes, no self damage though. I don't intend on changing it either as it wouldn't be efficient. Would also kill the aeshtetics

Stopped? Meaning i blast my own ship then, right?
DeltaWing  [author] 27 May, 2024 @ 4:30am
A good chunk of the shots will go through because hitreg jank, but a good portion will get stopped

Is this design still operational? A youtuber mentioned that a weapon stacking method became obsolete after the last DLC or update or sth. If not do you plan to adjust it?
