Spandau Ridge to Tiger
As part of Operation Crusader, the defenders in Tobruk were tasked to break out on November 21st. The Black Watch 2nd battalion took centre stage, pushing through point "Jill" before the assault on "Tiger". Unfortunately, poor intelligence meant that a ridge of machine guns had not been noticed. The Watch pushed on anyway under the pipes.
