KF-AbusementPark-2011

Description
Original Author: Tripwire Interactive
I claim no credit for this map at all.

This is the original 2011 version of KF-AbusementPark that helped kick off the ongoing tradition of Summer Sideshow events.

A few significant changes have been made to this map over time, the first of which was fixing an out-of-bounds exploit. The "Strong Man" game allows you to hit the baseboard to launch the ringer into the bell. When it first released, you could stand against the back and shoot the baseboard, then ride the ringer up to the top and jump out of bounds.

See this video for a demonstration:

An update to the map a few months later added blocking volumes around the backboards, so you could no longer get close enough to ride the ringer, even though the ringer still had collision enabled.

The second major change happened during the following year's Summer Sideshow event in 2012, which introduced KF-Hellride. This update added a facade in Abusement Park for the entrance to Hellride. This specific change also involved moving some geometry around and adding a new minigame next to the new Hellride entrance, "Pop the Clot."

Alongside this second update came two other somewhat significant decorative changes. The giant un-costumed Fleshpound and Crawler heads outside the big-top were replaced with a giant Summer Sideshow Bloat (Pukey the Clown) head, and the "FREAK CIRCUS" sign was moved and resized to accomodate. Also, the corner of the park where the "Strong Man" exploit used to reside was given a "The Amazing Mechanical Man" display, which has an animatronic Summer Sideshow Husk dance to some music if dosh is thrown in the box in front of it.

There are some other, minor decorative changes, such as signs being redesigned, added, or swapped for another pre-existing design, etc. But they're not really worth making note of in detail.

I only made two changes myself. First was editing the LevelSummary so there's no confusion between this and the current, vanilla version of the map. The second was setting up the music so that it not only actually plays the Summer Sideshow music composed by zYnthetic, instead of the normal game music, but also so that it only uses the 5 tracks that the map originally shipped with instead of including all of the Summer Sideshow tracks that were introduced in later years.

Direct download (includes the original, untouched map without the changed music and LevelSummary, as well): https://drive[dot]google[dot]com/file/d/12VljKB3iSmyiTF5mMv4oG9waHyWhKmLT/view?usp=sharing

Hey, your link got auto-removed by steam. Would you mind posting it again? Just put some spaces or other characters in it so it's not recognized as a link.

My mistake. The exploit is in the map. I'll make a video later.

@AKA_Trunk Monkey Unless the archive I found was mislabeled, this version of the map is from update 1023 (July 1, 2011), which was the original release of Abusement Park.

What was the other exploit? I didn't know about another.

Not exactly the original version. There was another exploit on the map. Thanks though!
