Description
Hey! The mod adds character traits to all the characters in the game with a variety of effects.

A trait is a feature of a personality. Some traits affect the gameplay, some are added for immersion, some changes the relationships between the characters. Traits are given out by a special generator that ensures that the character is not both an alcoholic and a teetotaler, and also balances the ratio of traits of varying degrees of "coolness". The main character gets his backstory, reputation, fame, and his current special hidden perks as traits (such as Arubas blessing).

As part of the traits system, the mod changes the interaction with officers/companions.

Changes:
  • The reputation system is disabled, no more bloody murderers and heroes.
  • Reactions to good/bad actions are disabled. Except for situations that no one likes, such as unpaid salaries.
  • Quest characters no longer have a fixed loyalty, they differ only in that they will not leave you anyway even if they has no loyalty left.
  • Officers now generated by different algorithm, more balanced in skills and predictable in perks, everyone has main preferred job and secondary. For example: doctor/fighter, fighter/purser, carpenter/boatswain etc.

New loyalty:

If the character's loyalty becomes low, he will receive a skill penalty, if zero, he will leave you.
With high loyalty, the character will sometimes share his experience with you.

Conflicts:
A random pair of characters from the crew is periodically compared. If their views are contradictory, their loyalty will decrease, and vice versa, if the characters like each other, loyalty will increase.

Upon hiring, you will see only a small part of the officer's traits, the rest will be revealed later as you sail toghether. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will be able to avoid conflicts altogether, you will have to decide who to leave at the nearest port. The number of initially open traits depends on Leadership and Charisma.

Also, the amount of loyalty loss in a conflict also depends on your Charisma.

Sharing experience:
Periodically, a random character from the crew will share with you his experience in one personal and one ship's skill (of those in which he is good). You and your character must have the "Quick Learning" perk.
