Description
S.T.A.K.E. or Wildey, whatever. BIG pistol which replaces the .357. FRESH custom animations made by me. The gun is from Resident Evil Village ported to Source in a Garry's Mod addon, but the gunshot sound is from Left 4 Dead 2's deagle and the handling sounds are from Insurgency (which is pretty much the bible when it comes to reload sounds). 6 arm options (Base Game by default) included!

Features:
  • Wildey (S.T.A.K.E.) handgun from Resident Evil Village replacing the .357, with view/world models
  • Custom animations that keep the timing from the base game .357 (barring some animations that shouldn't matter for timing)
  • Sounds from Insurgency for handling. Sounds from Left 4 Dead 2's deagle for gunshots
  • IK and realtime looping animations
  • Untested multiplayer support: MP arms and worldmodel
  • Sprinting animations timed to the usual-case footsteps (also is realtime)
  • Weapon Bucket Icon (VGUI) (Thanez arms addon has a matching one)
  • Blood and Acid slathering support
  • No weapon scripts
  • Experimental AF!
  • 6 arm options: Base Game, Thanez, Chris V1, Chris V2, Chris Fewes, and Fewes. Arm option installation instructions are below

Not Working? Solutions:
If this addon is not working, here are some basic steps that could help. It's best to have the game exited before downloading. You may skip these steps.

If the addon continues to not work, you will need to place this addon's files into your game's install directory: here is a tutorial for that. Alternatively, you can use this guide linked here.
  1. In the Steam library, right-click on Black Mesa, hover over "Manage", and then click "Browse local files".

This will open your Black Mesa install folder, which should be at "steamapps\common\Black Mesa".

  2. Enter the folder "steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms". Inside of "bms" there should be a folder called "custom" — if it isn't there, create it.

The game reads files and folders from the "custom" folder, so that is where the files must be placed.

  3. Go to "steamapps\workshop\content\362890\3522448498" and then take the files (which are listed at Addon Contents above) and place them into "steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms\custom".

"362890" is Black Mesa's Steam ID. "3522448498" is this Workshop addon's ID.

  4. Unsubscribe to this addon.

You will not be able to get any future updates to this addon by doing this, and if it updates you will have to repeat these steps. If you do not unsubscribe, Steam will have no idea where the files went so it will try to download them again.

This addon should now show up ingame. If it doesn't work at this point, then I am unable to help you. You can unpack the .vpk files to modify the addon and that may make it work if you are still having problems. You'll have to sleuth around to figure out how to do that.
Extra info.
For other addons that replace the same files, the steps above may have to be done to prevent errors.
If you'd like to remove the addon's gunshot sound effects, either as you'd like the stock sounds or prefer another sound pack, you can simply not transfer over any .vpk file with the suffix "gunshots". You can also unpack the .vpk files to tweak more things.
Name matters.
In the "custom" folder, the name of the addon matters, as it determines the load order; the files from an addon with higher priority can't be replaced by the overlapping files from any lower priority addon. The name is case-sensitive. The simplified order is: ( 0-9 > A-Z > a-z ). More symbols here[www.ascii-code.com].
Example: you have two addons, 0.vpk and 1.vpk, that change many files and some of the files overlap (e.g. both replace a weapon model). Because 0.vpk comes earlier, it has priority, meaning 1.vpk won't replace the overlapping files while still adding whatever 0.vpk hasn't already touched.

Other arm options:
This addon doesn't have arm materials or textures, so you must have an addon that has them.
This addon has 6 arms included, which are: Base Game (default), Thanez, Chris V1, Chris V2, Chris Fewes, and Fewes[gamebanana.com].
To get non-Base Game arms, you must move the whole addon into your "custom" folder by doing the steps above. You must also move the arms addon itself into "custom". Avoid renaming files if you do not understand load order.
If a .vpk file is inside of "0_357_RE8Wildey_ADDONS", it won't load, so keep the options you don't want there if you'd like.
Take whichever arms you want and put it together with "0_357_RE8Wildey_shared.vpk" in "custom".
This addon was animated on Base Game arms, so there may be clipping/misalignment.

If you'd like to modify this addon yourself (e.g., changing sounds, textures, model, using the animations) or include it in a pack or mod, go ahead. Credit me and other relevant authors/studios!

It's probably not possible because the reload works different, but the Wolfsbane would go hard
