Beam's 1974 Ambassador Brougham.

Description
Hello all!

Today I bring you the 1974 AMC Ambassador Brougham! My first editor recreation of an actual vehicle model.

This is a vehicle that was put on the shelf for a number of weeks despite being 99% finished.
Polished it up earlier today and here you go.

I will admit that it is not perfect. There are elements of the design that are not 100% accurate to the real vehicle.

But I was happy enough with the final result.

(Colours for both the body and vinyl roof are found in the vehicle's trunk)

Information:

The Ambassador was American Motor Company's premium sedan offering from 1957 to 1974.

This put an end to the run of the oldest continuous nameplate use on an American automobile until that time (The Ambassador name having originated on a Nash Motors car in 1927).

The 1974 Ambassador is an interesting example, not only because it was the last generation before discontinuation, but that this particular face-lift design lasted only one year. This making it one of the rarest face-lift iterations of the AMC Ambassador.

The example shown here is the 'Brougham' addition of the Ambassador, boasting a vinyl roof and some slightly more upmarket interior seat trimmings and other various 'special' fixtures.

In all honesty, there isn't much about the Brougham variant that's any different from the regular model besides the vinyl roof.

The Two-door hardtop body-style had been discontinued for the Brougham editions in 1974 (This was due to low sales numbers and the introduction of the AMC Matador Coupe), making them share the four-door and station wagon bodies with the lower trim vehicles. The Brougham variants no longer stood out as much as before, being increasingly similar to their siblings.

It all came to a close in June 1974, when the final AMC Ambassador rolled off the assembly line in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

For 1974 AMC managed to sell 24,971 Ambassadors. 17,901 being sedans and 7,070 being station wagons.

Personal info

I've had this car on my 'to-do-list' for a while, but only recently decided to commit to its creation.

You may ask 'Why this car?'

Because it's interesting, in my opinion at least. It's one of the more underappreciated models from a manufacturer that was constantly overshadowed by the 'Big three'.
It's also interesting because of this generation being a one year only face-lift.

There's also not a lot of information about this model year online. Making finding some details tricky.

(There's also another reason: I booted up my old Xbox a while ago and played Burnout Paradise for while. One of the NPC traffic vehicles in the game is heavily inspired by the 74 Ambassador and I was intrigued that an obscure vehicle such as this ended up being a background vehicle. That's what kick-started this really, it's what lead me to do more research into the Ambassador).

I'd highly recommend reading up the whole history of the Ambassador nameplate, if you find this kind of stuff interesting. Quite a few other unique variants and factoids about the model.
